Still reeling..
I have read most of Paulo's books after a special friend bought me "The Alchemist" as a gift. I dont read his books like I do my other favourite authors. I like to savour Paulo's work. I like to give myself a night to absorb and take in his words. In other words I force myself to put it down after reading for an hour or so..otherwise it would be devoured (and sadly over with) all too soon. I have never left a review for a book before but I have to say this was one of the most moving stories I have ever read. Perhaps the timing was of importance to me re rediscovering faith but I can honestly say its both the saddest and happiest books I have read. I was crying for almost an hour after finishing it this afternoon.. I didnt want it to be over. I love Paulo's work. I love the food for thought. Only 3 of his books left to read. If you like his work - this is a must.

Slightly disappointed
I bought this book expecting the same standard as the Alchemist but was slightly disappointed in this book. It gave me the impression of "girl meets boy, girl loses boy, girl finds boy, girl and boy live happily ever after". Although this book did not appeal to me, it does not mean that it won't ring someone elses bell. If you like love stories with a little bit of mysticism chucked in, then this is the book for you.
