Q: does this absorb fairly easily, or do you have to wear socks if going to bed, and is the peppermint smell overwhelming?

The smell is pronounced but not overwhelming to me I always wear socks for several minutes after applying….take them OFF and go to bed ☺️

Q: Will this product remove the dead skin from my feet?

Probably, after continued use. There are other products on the market that will remove dead skin faster, but this is still a very nice cream. The smell alone is great and worth the price.
