Fast Paced Read
Being a mom of 2, I have few opportunities to read a book from cover to cover in 24 hours or less...but I found such an opportunity with this suspenseful novel!Abducted is every mom's worst nightmare - your baby, kidnapped - and that's just what happened in the first few chapters. What begins as a frantic search to find this baby turns into an interconnected story of petty thieves, wannabe crime lords, and a foster girl that's caught up in a race to save her life. I love how Janice wove all these character's stories together, and I could not stop reading until the very end. It's been years since I read the first book in the series, and I'm glad I went back and reread my review of it. I was anxious to see if any of the things that turned me off would be present in the second installment, and thankfully, they were not. The only thing that bugged me (and just barely, at that) was Andi's character. For about two-thirds of the book, I could not understand why she was even a supporting character. She constantly rags on Carly for her newfound faith in Christ, and she does not trust Nick. At all. Only as the story is starting to reach the climax does her character start to become more relevant, and I was glad that she and Carly were able to lean on each other for support. All in all, this was a fantastic, quick read that kept me on my toes throughout. I'm anxious to read the final installment soon!

An Engaging Police Drama
5 stars*****Janice Cantore has brought back one of my favorite cops, Carly Edwards of the Las Playas Police Department. Carly has recovered from her near death experience at the hand of some dirty cops.Everything seems to be going good for Carly now that she is back on patrol with her partner Joe.They are enjoying the thrill of pursuing and catching the bad guys and putting them in jail. Until the night they are patrolling near the hospital and they see lights coming from a building that is closed. They catch the guy responsible for the break-in but little do they know the horrors that are going to befall them in the next few hours when the person waiting in the car gets away.It seemed to be a routine night for Carly and Joe when the call comes through that Joe's wife is at the hospital very sick. They rush to the hospital shortly before she goes into a coma from a mysterious disease and because they aren't sure what caused her problems they decide to keep their four month old son, A.J. for observation. During the night someone slips into the nursery and kidnaps him.Now not only does Carly have to worry about finding Joe's baby now she is also worried about Nick, her ex-husband. It seems he might be changing his mind about reconciling with her. Carly can't bear the thought of losing him again. Could he really think Carly is so shallow she would turn her back on him just because he was left with using a cane from a gunshot? Will Carly get her happy ending with Nick or will another man be able to sweep her off her feet instead?I have loved Janice's books since I first read Accused, she is a talented writer and I love how well she draws you into the story from the very beginning. There are a few surprises in here I didn't see coming and I loved it!! Thanks Janice for another engaging book !!

abducted
Carly Edwards is back on patrol with her partner Joe. They get a call telling them to go to the hospital as Joe's wife has just been brought in. Joe and his wife have a 4 month old little boy named AJ. He too is brought into the hospital to be checked over to make sure everything is well with him. As Joe's wife spends days unconscious while the doctors run tests to find out what is wrong, AJ is abducted from the hospital by an unknown woman. Carly is determined to find out where AJ is and who took him.Nick is Carly's ex husband. They have been working on reconciling but now Nick is backing off leaving Carly confused and angry. Ever since Nick was shot and been in rehab he's been acting differently towards Carly. Carly thought since both of their lives had changed with their commitment to Christ that things were going in the right direction. Not only is her relationship with Nick off, but also her relationship with her roommate and best friend Andrea has become rocky.Between following clues to finding AJ and her relationships with Nick and Andrea, Carly learns that she must first and foremost put her trust in Christ.Abducted is the second book in the Pacific Coast Justice series. I'm really enjoying this series. I like the strong character of Carly. She can be tough when she needs to be for the job, but she can also be soft and caring for the people in her life. The pace of the book moved along quickly and never seemed to lag. Several times I found myself on the edge of my seat waiting for some scene to play out before I could relax. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. If you like strong female characters with a bit of mystery and suspense thrown in with some romance this is a great series for you!

Boring
When I started reading the book I thought "this should be good" however as I kept reading my mind kept wondering. I then realized half way through the book that I was bored and was not able to finish it. It was way to slow for me.
