I have owned my Kirby since 1975, and it is like an axe. (An axe will last forever if you keep replacing the handle and the head). This powerful household workhorse has stood the test of time, and I was delighted to be able to find these pieces of great quality to replace the one that had finally after 45 years of service, split. having two of these at long last allows my tall self not to have to bend over when using the hard floor tool. Hooray! It's about time.

This is what I ordered and I knew what I was getting, so I can't complain. I like the Kirby vacuum that I own and it still works like a champ. Some of the accessories need a little work, though. The plastic vacuum hose extensions and fittings don't last more than a few years. Since half of my house is carpet and half is wood flooring, I use the hoses and extensions regularly and I suspect that's more than what Kirby designed them for. I would think that a company like Kirby, which prides itself on the quality of its vacuums would take a little more pride in the accessories for their vacuums.
