Love this! Worth the wait.
I've been wanting an embroidery stand for years, have researched dozens, but always held off getting one, mostly because the good ones are pricey. After a break from embroidery for awhile, I recently started a new project, and decided I just couldn't anymore with the awkward holding of hoops or frames. So I did some new research and decided to try this stand. The short conclusion: I am so very glad I got this stand. I have nothing but positive things to say about it. It's sturdy, works great, I've seen no down side to it at all, and I highly recommend it.More info if you're interested:It's very sturdy and solid. There's nothing that seems 'cheap' about this stand - nice smooth wood, well made. Yet it's not heavy, very easy to pick up and move around. It doesn't come with instructions but is easy to put together - it's pretty self-explanatory. It adjusts in so many different ways that it would be impossible not to find a comfortable configuration for stitching, whether using it as a sit-on stand on a chair or couch, or as a table-top stand.I had watched a couple of YouTube review videos on this stand, and unfortunately they were pretty misleading and almost talked me out of getting it. In case anyone reading these reviews also does that, I want to debunk these issues. One indicated that, when using as a table stand, it would slide around on the table. I was going to buy some little rubber feet to stick on the bottom, and also considered making a weight of some kind to lay on the base, but now that I've used it, neither is necessary. It doesn't move around while I'm stitching. When you're adjusting it, and so pushing or pulling on the different 'arms,' yes it might slide a bit. Anything will slide on a smooth table if you're actively pushing or pulling on it. It's really a non-issue. It doesn't move around while I'm stitching.Another review video showed the hoop being floppy and not held tightly. I have also not had that experience. I have no issue with the hoop moving around, it's very firmly held and not wobbly at all. Yes, if you grab the hoop and start yanking on it (like in the video) you can move it, but you shouldn't need to do that for stitching. However, there are two ways you can put the hoop in - basically one that's 'horizontal' and one that's 'vertical,' and if you find one way less secure, you can try the other. See the attached pictures. I've tried both, and both work well for me. And I'm using a relatively thin hoop (a little over 1/4" wide) and it still holds it just fine in either position.I also tested using it sitting on the couch, and found that very comfortable, too, no issues with that. I can lean back on the couch comfortably and bring the hoop right up close.Overall, I love this stand, I can't see a downside to it, and I highly recommend it.

Wow - Makes a Difference!
I had seen on you tube how easy it was for them to embroider with both hands and i wondered how lol... until i realized they were using a stand of some sort!!!So after researching for a bit I found this one and even though it is a bit expensive i decided to give it a try. I am not sorry that i did - It has made all the difference in the world and i am now able to do the stitches which requires both hands very easily!!The stand is made of real wood, very sturdy if you are sitting on it (i haven't tried using it on a table) and is very easy to position. The knobs are not hard and you do not have to tighten them very hard either. The stand can also be placed into any position just by loosening the knobs and I love that the stand "flattens" to a point where it is easy to put away when not in use.The top screw does hold onto the hoop very nicely - i use round hoops but I don't see why square hoops would be a problem. Just make sure that you put the hoop on with the tightening screws (on the hoop) to either the left or right side - that part will not fit into the opening.I will say this ... there are three plastic round pieces that i thought at first were packing material - they are not! When you are putting it together - BEFORE you put the black knobs on - put the round plastic piece on first - this helps to stop any scratching or indentation on the stand when you are tightening the knobs.

Ease of use
I am loving this hoop stand! I decided to buy a stand because long hours of stitching were taking a toll on my neck and back. This stand has made it so much easier to sit on the couch and stitch in a comfortable position. It has also been really nice having two free hands to work with. I looked at many different types of stands, but I ended up "splurging" and paying for a well-known brand name and I am glad I did. The stand is sturdy and well-made. I recommend this stand and would buy it again!

Overall quality good, but won’t tighten
Wing nut doesn’t tighten. Quality seems good except one of the tightening nut is missing screw threads and will not tighten.

Very adjustable
Very easy to put together even without instructions. I had one butterfly screw without metal threads inside-but I learned to improvise-but definitely improved my stitching-better than any other tried

Great for table top embroidery
I love this for table top embroidery though if you’ve been sewing for years without a stand like I have it’s super hard to not have my hand creep up and try to hold the hoop! This is really sturdy, easy to put together and locks the hoop in place really well. The downside for me is that this can be used while you’re sitting, like on the couch, by tucking the wood stand under your legs. I found this felt kind of awkward. I bought two different stands to try them out both seated at a table and on the couch and I’m hoping the floor/table combo one works better. That being said if this is just for table stitching this is beautiful and would make a great gift- also if you have a magnetic needle minder I found you can attach it to one of the flat ends of the screws and just throw your loose needle on it! (see second pic!)

Great but...
This stand is easy to assemble and seems sturdy enough, however, it is lacing the feature to turn your embroidery to the back side. It doesn't have a feature to twist. It is important because you need to anchor the thread in the back. So to do this, you need either remove it from the clamp, which is very annoying or turn it all the way up and really raise your arms to work on the back, so your arms will get a bit tired. If any of this doesn't bother you then it is a nice and sturdy stand. Great if you don't want to hold your embroidery hoop in your hands, which is technically the purpose of this purchase. Wish they added a side turn to the clamp.
