This is a fraudulent product. Do not purchase.The instructions say to scan barcode to register - the url isn't valid.I thought that perhaps it might be network related so I tried once in China - the url doesn't exist.I had also emailed my passport scans to the email address noted in the instructions.luckily I had also purchased a sim from lvycom.com and it worked immediately and reliably in China.

If you're traveling to China and don't want to roam on your US-based cell plan, this is your best bet, assuming you have an unlocked LTE phone that works on China Telecom's 4G CDMA network.The reason you want to get this instead of waiting until you land in China is, since last year, Chinese authorities have made it very difficult to foreigners to buy SIM cards, espeically via official channels. This card charges more than a card you get in China but in dollar terms the markup is not too steep, and you just can't beat the convenience.

Terrible product!! Don't buy it. I could not register it using their QR code, nor by the online link, nor by the backup email, nor by taking to one of the stores in Beijing. It was worthless and a waste of money. Buy something that works.
