One of the pictures makes it appear that the forward part of the bag interferes with the door support. Is that a problem?

Not a problem. You do have to put the bag in with small part at the back. I've used them many times and they work great.

Same shape but will fit both sides. Because there’s no left or right on the inserts.

How does this fit either side, since the saddlebags are vastly different in size, from left to right? 2018 owner.
