Q: Is this suitable to use with a granny cable 10 amp to charge my electric car?

These are rated to 13A, however please check with a qualified electrician around the requirements for electric vehicle charging. The issues arise from poor installation and underrated cables which can lead to over heating and ultimately damage to your installation and car.

Q: Can I use the smart socket together with the app to dim a dimmable outdoor light? Or does the app only allow sockets to be on or off?

The app only allows switching on and off. We do have smart lamps which can be dimmed and in many cases colour changing too. Please visit the Knightsbridge store and look at our smart product range

Q: How do I get this into pairing mode?

Don't even bother. Send it back for a refund before the initial 30 day Amazon warranty is up. If you have to deal with Knightsbridge for a warranty claim, you may as well throw it in the bin and write off what you paid for it. These are absolutely useless. They work for between 6 and 12cmonths, then disconnect from wifi permanently.

Q: can the mains cable enter the enclosure at the bottom? ie are there knockouts on the bottom of the enclosure to fit the cable glands?

Yes there are 3 knockouts on the bottom for cable glands, as well as 3 on the top and one on either side.
