Disappointed -- Fine on "High", They Just Blink on "Low"
I was very disappointed in this product. I purchased it for use in a range hood that has two light setting, low and high. The manufacturer/seller indicated that these lights are dimmable and even stated in the answer to a question on the product page that they would work fine in a range hood:Question:Will these work in a kitchen range hood that has 3 light settings, low, med, and high?Answer:Dear customer. Our SELS led par20 will work perfect for that application. You will have 3 light intensity 100%, 60% and 30%.Best regardsSELS customer service see lessBy SELS LED on October 2, 2015Unfortunately, they don't. On the high setting, they work just fine and are every bit as bright as the halogen lights they replace. Five stars for that. But, when "low" is selected they just blink and are unusable. Zero stars for that.I emailed the manufacturer/seller but they did not respond.I think if you are planning to use these in an application where only one power setting is used, they'd be fine... but they don't work as advertised in a Low/High environment. Disappointed.

Fit is acceptable. Brightness, color, and operation are all perfect at 1/6th the operation cost when compared to halogen.
I have a hood over my stove in which I have had three Sylvania Halogen Flood PAR 20 50w bulbs. The hood does not have a dimming or LO/HI feature, so dimming capability for the LED bulbs is unimportant to me. These LED bulbs provide roughly equivalent brightness, color balance, and spread of light when compared to the halogen, with a power draw of just over 25w total instead of 150w. All three work perfectly, come on quickly, and fit in the hood without difficulty. The fit isn't perfect, however, as the bulbs are just slightly too long, so instead of being flush with the surface, they stick down by about one quarter of an inch. They also have a slightly smaller diameter at their surface so there is a small circular space around them that's not present with the standard halogen bulbs. Overall, I'm very happy with the operation and the power draw differential.

Work FINE on BRIGHT, but BLINK on DIM.
Three of these lamps replaced halogen 50Ws in a fixture controlled by a three-position switch: OFF, DIM and BRIGHT. In the DIM position, I think the fixture's switch inserts a diode into the line, essentially rectifying the AC waveform, thus delivering half the power to the filaments. With incandescent halogen lamps, it has worked for decades, providing a cheap and simple dimmer function. But, in the same fixture, in the DIM position, these LEDs blink about once every five seconds. All three of them. In fact, when I put one halogen back, the two LEDs continue to blink every 5 seconds on DIM, but the halogen doesn't even slightly flicker.I would like to know what's going on here. What would the two LEDs have in common to keep them blinking every 5 seconds in perfect sync? (I ran them for half an hour and they stayed in sync.)I wrote to [email protected], the manufacturer, but received no response. But they work fine on HIGH. No blinking and they seem to be slightly brighter than the halogens. So I'll keep them.--Gil

Good but a few issues
Pros:-great price-light color/temperature and brightness very good and as described-size/appearance of bulb also a plusCons:-roughly 1 in 10 were defective (I bought about 30 and 3 flickered or did not turn on). Recommend buying a few more than you need. Still a good price overall-Had trouble in situations where this was the only light on a dimmer. (I am using all new LED dimmers). If multiple bulbs (2 of these, 3 of these, etc) on a dimmer it worked fine but with one it sometimes did not turn on or flickered. In those cases I used a Philips LED bulb which works fine

Seller did not follow through on return
I had purchased these bulbs and one of them was not working. I contacted the seller and they said they would send a replacement pack, but it never happened. Most of the bulbs worked fine and I was happy that they would stand behind their product, but they did not follow through on their promise.

"These are the droids (I mean lamps) you're looking for"
I purchased the Samsung equivalent at both $32 each and one time for $22 each (but they are back up to $32 again? - I am speaking of, single lamp price) I really like these SELS brand devices as they are essentially equivalent to the Samsung but at a fraction of the cost. Yes, one still has to pay a premium to get a good "Halogen-looking" light spectrum out of LEDs. Do not let yourself be fooled by the statement "soft white" as many sales pitches try to sway you, because that can mean all the way up into the ugly white 3000k and higher bands. These SELS definitely have more of the orange-yellow content. ...and they ARE bright like you would not believe!!! I have not yet tried them on a dimmer but I'm betting they'll be just fine. Remember, ALL LEDs have a minimum brightness capability that is unlike (and higher than) that of incandescent or halogen lamps, but that's just the nature of the beast. Buy these lamps with confidence. You will not be sorry.

70's Flashbacks - Barry Gibb approved
1. Good service and fast delivery from Amazon (as usual).2. Bulbs well packed.3. The base of the bulb has a very flat piece of metal at the very bottom. At first, this did not make adequate contact with the metal piece in the bottom of the socket. With the help of some needlenose pliers, I was able to bend the contact enough to touch.4. The flood width is fairly narrow. Users intending to light a room will be fine. If using them for a vent hood over the range, there may be a few darker areas that the light does not evenly hit.5. As mentioned, I used these in a vent hood. As previous posters noted, these will not work with a dimming switch. My range hood has both a low and a high setting. High is fine. The low setting flickers and blinks like a night at the disco! Since I never use this setting, who cares.Hopefully they last as long as they claim. Time will tell if I would buy this product again. Now off to buy that Bee Gees album.....

I bought 12 of these bulbs in late 2016 so ...
I bought 12 of these bulbs in late 2016 so they have been installed for a year and a half. One totally died and three others flicker off and on a lot of times. They need replacement way before I would have expected. I'm trying another brand.
