fun game
The sad fact about this game is that it's another victim of hype and it's release date being just after Uncharted 4, a fantastic action adventure game that played flawlessly and is the pinnacle of of story telling. And DOOM, a fast paced gore filled first person shooter that is bring back what we love about old school fps games with a bang. Naturally Homefront The Revolution had a couple tough acts to follow and yes, it fell a little short but it's not fare to compare any of those game, it's like comparing apples and oranges, and it's not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. The story is decent and pretty long, around 30 hours, but if you where going into this game expecting a Red Dawn story then your heart was in the wrong place. The true enjoyment of this game comes from the world which does take after Far Cry somewhat, you run around taking enemie camps and outposts, finding hidden weapon caches, sabotaging enemies artillery and vehicle's, helping the people, hacking terminals, etc. But what really makes the world fun is that it truly feels alive, like it's constantly working. There's enemies around every corner and patrols are always changing, you can be killed it only a few hits if you're not careful making the world feel very dangerous and makes stealth a important part of the game, the weapon costumization is quick and easy and fun and even though the world isn't the biggest ever most of the buildings in the game are open making it feel giant and the world itself is really well designed and laid out. They did a really good job at implementing a constent feeling of oppression and lack of freedom. The cons are definitely the performance. I played it with out the day one patch and there was an uncountable amount of bugs and glitches and the FPS was almost always 15-20 but after the patch it seems they fixed about half the bugs and glitches from what I can tell and even though there's still problems it been greatly improved

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE HORRIBLE NEGATIVE REVIEWS
This game is a lot of fun. Good graphics, Great mechanics, Great gameplay. Sure it has the occasional hiccup here and there but what game doesn't on launch day (Battlefield 4, The Division to name a few) It will all get fixed within a week or so on the next patch. The story mode is a lot of fun. It really feels like your the underdog with a lengthy story around 30 hours long. CO OP is really where this game shines. It has a lot of customization to offer for player appearance and weapons. Fun, big open maps to play. Not linear at all. All DLC for CO OP will be free. Id give it a 4 out of 5 but people are giving 1 star reviews so I'm just going to give it five. A 1 or 2 star review is just ludicrous for any game.

Good but not perfect
I preordered this game because it was a open world wolverine type game. I probably put 30+ hours into this game so far and this is what I think so far.First this I always look at are the GRAPHICS: They are great! The wolrd looks great and the different zones you will travel look completely different and kinda make you feel like your playing a different game.GAMEPLAY: The game play overall is good. It reminds me of far cry as you have to capture different points and then control new territories. Once you control a zone you don't see anymore enemies. When in combat you have to be smart, no run and gun like Doom. Your health goes down quick and your health packs take a second to heal you.You only get about 6 gun types but all can be customized to do different things. Example: the pistol can be converted into an smg or a dart gun with a couple simple button presses. Everyway you convert your weapon has pros and cons. Overall the weapons are pretty cool.On missions, you could just focus on doing the main missions our you can do side missions as well that will give you more money to buy newer weapons and gear. Spend your money wisely as it is hard to get. The story is easy to follow and from the beginning the rebals make you feel like your the hero. The only fault on the gameplay is it does get laggy during autosaves and you will see glitches or get stuck in some spots. They already have had atleast 3 updates so hopefully they will continue to improve it.COOP: I've only played one coop mission but it looked promising.FINAL: I still haven't beat the game but overall am satisfied with it. It is challenging, openworld, and you can choose different strategies for whatever mission you are doing. My only other advice is look at dates if the reviews as when game first came out I think it was very bugged.

A good open-world FPS held back by a lack of polish
My review of Homefront the Revolution for the PS4ProInteresting story - While the story in Homefront the Revolution can come off as being cheesy I really didn’t have an issue with it (I like how they show the 2 North Koreans working in a garage which look very similar to the way the late Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak did). I like these alternate history story from 2003 Freedom Fighter (in which the Russians won the Cold War) to 2014 Wolfenstein The New Order & Amazon Instant Video The Man in the High Castle (in which the Nazi won World War 2 which for me as a Jewish person is very scary indeed) to the 90’s sitcoms Sliders.Long Campaign - From someone who enjoys games with a strong single contents (there is a four player co-op mode) this to me is a plus. The campaign is about (from what I’ve heard) 20 hours long but it can be longer if you are willing to take on the side missions like random events, finding radios & weapons stash and side jobs like kill 5 seekers with a shotgun or take out a certain number of KPA soldiers with a molotov cocktail.FarCry Approach - For those who like the way Ubisoft approaches open world games then you’ll probably like Homefront the Revolution. Basically you hack some kind os server (very easy to do) and once is done other areas in the map will open up such as bases and other side things to do. Bottom line is if you like that kind of approach in an open world game then you’ll probably like Homefront the Revolution.Guerrilla Tactics - I like how Homefront the Revolution encourage you not to go in gun ho (you can but you will get easily kill). instead you have to take a cautious approach like instead trying to go in the front door of a n enemy base you could…A. see if there is a ramp and if there is one you can hop on a motorcycle and ride the ramp into the enemy base or…B. find a backdoor and unlock it and try to take a stealthy approach to it and try to take down the enemy quietly.Modifying Your Weapons on the Fly - And finally another neat feature I like that they put into Homefront the Revolution is the ability to add & switch attachment to your weapons. For example if you want to add (or detach) a scope to your shotgun or assault rifle all you have to do is push the up button on your PS4 control to bring up what attachment are available, hold the R1 button and move the left analog stick to which scope you want to use and it will be added on to your weapon right away (you don’t have to go to your base to add or remove modification to your weapon). Also you do have the ability to craft certain weapons like molotov cocktail or home made bombs (you’ll need the material to make them since they are scattered all across the game).ConsToo similar to FarCry - Although I enjoyed the gameplay in Homefront the Revolution it really doesn’t do anythings that hasn’t been in other games like the Assassin Creed or FarCry series or even the Watch Dogs game. It doesn’t mean its a bad game it just doesn’t do any thing new that all.Lack of Polish - Probably the biggest issue facing Homefront the Revolution. While the game is certainly playable you can definitely see the lack of polish in this game. First off you’ll need to download the day one patch because the game without it is almost unplayable and while the the patch does fix a lot of the problems there are still some issue such as getting stuck in one place (this happen to me once and I had to restart the game at my last save), ok visuals (a little bit better then The Divisions but that not saying much), a below 30fps ( probably around 25fps), a somewhat long loading screen and finally I’ve notices that every time I exit a shop the game pauses for about 5 to 10 second.Overall - I have mix feeling about Homefront the Revolution. While I definitely like the approach they made to this game. It’s lack of polish is what hold it back and I think that a damn shame thought (not to mention the development hell it went through). While I don’t think the game is as bad as some reviewers have said its far from a perfect game and that a shame because I do want this game to do well but I have a feeling there a good chance this game will more then likely flop.

Absolutely fantastic game
Picked this up as deal of the day for $35(probably because it had gotten horrible reviews and was not selling well) and it arrived today. I absolutely cannot believe all the bad reviews this game is getting. Call me crazy if you want to, but I am BLOWN AWAY at how GOOD this game is. I have not noticed any of the issues people have complained about(I admit that I am running a version that has been patched with the v 1.04 update and maybe they all got smoothed out after the fixes). If you like 1st person shooter games and want to go on an adventure, then ignore the naysayers and trolls and keep an open mind. That's right, you should pick this game up as soon as you can if you like shooters. I am very happy with my purchase. Maybe my five star review will help push the current two star rating up a little. THIS GAME ROCKS
