this is a great kit BUT know that you can't have a case on your phone and use the mic so it's pointless. I have a $1500 phone and there's no way I'm not keeping the case on it just so I can film. I ended up returning it.

Better than expected
A family member asked me to video her wedding. I'm not a videographer, but I know the iPhone (12 Pro) takes great-quality video, especially during the day. I did my research and decided on this unit. I videoed the 40-minute wedding in one take, and afterward checked the video, specifically for the sound. It was perfect. The phone was about 4 metres away on a tripod, and the Dead Cat (fluffy cover) was on. It was shot outside, although it wasn't that windy. Excellent purchase and I thoroughly recommend it.

Brilliant directional mike way outperformed my expectations
Took this combo straight out of the box to record a series of location interviews at two motor sport events. At both venues the mike performed brilliantly, filtering out what must have been 90% of very loud ambient noise. And with one interviewee who was very softly spoken, it still produced great audio with a PA system blaring Bat out of hell just 10 feet away. Quite incredible performance at the price and so good I've bought a second as back up. Well done Rode, you've done it again.

Well built and a very helpful piece of kit!
A terrific piece of kit that will be fun to use! I added an Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick extension to my RODE Vlogger kit, (thank you David Manning) that has made this little unit even more versatile. Cheers, Mark PS: And it does come with a Dead-Cat (See the last pic; box unvailing)
