Q: How long are the perches? My current feeder has perches too short for the house finches to stand on.

I bought this as a gift for my son so I can't measure it. However, he has lots of goldfinches and house finches at this feeder so it seems like its long enough.

The hole sizes are designed to accommodate the unique feeding needs of a variety of birds. The smaller holes are to keep Niger seeds from falling out and be available to birds such as finches whose beaks are designed to reach in small holes.

Q: Are the bird feeder openings large enough for a mix of safflower and Nyger seeds?

This feeder would not be suitable for safflower seeds.

Q: How long is the tube section?

12 or so, maybe 15 inches of tube. It holds a good volume of seed
