Perfect saw
Compared to the leading competitor stihl farm boss 271, I find the husky 460 leads the way in ergonomics, is the easier to start, is lighter weight for fatigue reduction. You get a solid value with a quality and sharp blade right out of the box. The include the husky 24” bar scabbard, and I have yet to find a negative about it.

great saw. husqvarnas largest "home use" saw.
I have 18/20/24" bars for my 460. It cuts well with all of them. The cutting power of the saw is only limited by user intelligence and tooth maintenance. Anyone complaining about cutting ability of this saw needs to rethink. I cut 24" logs with this frequently and it has no issues, but you can't expect it to keep up with the pro saws. If it's bogging down, you're pushing it too hard. Keep it sharp, let it do the work, and you'll love it. This is my second 460 (first one was stolen). It's a little on the heavy side but it's the largest home saw husqvarna makes so its reasonably weighted for what it is. Personally, I can handle the weight and I use it for limbing and everything, but it might be too heavy for some to be swinging around all day. That being said, if this one dies (which i never expect it to) I would buy another 460. If you're looking for professional power buy a big pro saw.

Perfect for a milling saw
Before I bought this I was using a 1973 Homelite and ended up hurting my hand pulling the start cord. So I said enough is enough time for a modern saw. Man, this thing is awesome. Great safety features, easy to start. I fitted it with an Oregon ripping chain sharpened at 10 degrees and it has already cut some beautiful red cedar planks for me. Love it!

Should have bought a Stihl.
Started right up. Chain came loose after each round I cut. Chain break jammed, had to take apart housing to find the spring was fouled. Removed the spring, worked for a few cuts then chain jammed. Took chain housing off to see that one of the plastic washers had be chewed up by the chain. Wry disappointing. Should have stuck with Stihl products.

Arrived Defective & Contacting Amazon is a dead-end loop that never goes to Customer Support
Arrived with damaged item box that will no longer work for shipping.Chain Brake failed to work. Noticed the housing was NOT flush, as it should be. Removed the cover to discover the mechanism improperly seated and the spring bowed out. Unable to compress spring and keep the mechanism properly seated, as required in order to fully close the cover.Removed spring in order to free the chain for use.Nearly impossible to start.Started wondering if this had been previously returned.Consulted Husqvarna Users Manual for Troubleshooting.Followed recommended steps to adjust/Tune chainsaw.Remained nearly impossible to start.Nearly impossible to keep it running once started. Would begin idling down and die.Bulb never did get free of the air; typically they always do for me. This one stayed half full of air most of the time.Chainsaw bogged down even cutting; no adjustments changed that.Kept hearing what sounded like constant suction when the saw cut off.Ran very hot when it did start and I could cut with it.Checked spark plug. Was not what the Users Manual stated should be present/used. Was stamped with blue lettering and appeared to be a Husqvarna branded plug. Noticed a couple of flaws or a crack in the ceramic.Could not fully throttle up for/when cutting without the saw cutting off.Attempted to mill a log but the saw did not seem to want to stay running nor fully power when on its side in the Alaskan Sawmill. Not a great experience and given what I've read and heard, I was a bit shocked.I've purchased cheap chainsaws on Amazon, that had more power but shorter blades, which lasted far longer before having any issues. Even with nuts and such falling off of them, those cheap chainsaws easily outperformed this Rancher 460.I needed a longer blade and wanted a top name brand for personal use and for volunteering as a sawyer with Team Rubicon during disaster relief operations. This was the top recommendation in many articles.I tried using the Amazon "Contact Us", as directed, in order to set up a replacement but the process kept circling back to the beginning, instead of actually contacting Customer Support. Not at all what I expectedNot my usual product experienceNot my usual Amazon site experience

Opened product - But works as intended
I am giving this a lower rating for now because after getting it out of the Amazon box it was taped over several times. The manufacture tape seals were cut. Looking inside all of the documentation and packing material was squished on the bottom where the motor was resting. The bar looks to be untouched. The tanks and plug looks clean but will need to check the clutch later for use.Update: I used this on large diameter trees and there are no issues with this saw. It works good!

Ran as expected, no issues
Little intimidating at the beginning but once you get used to it, it’s no problem.
