Dragons: Riders of Berk - Part 2 [DVD]

Hands down, one of my favorite kids shows...ever. And that's saying a lot...as I said in the title, I've got three kids, and over the years I've seen pretty much everything there is for kids to watch. If you like the "How to Train Your Dragon" movies, you'll love these. There's enough episodes that they have the time to explore all of the characters (and their dragons) much more in-depth than they ever could in a movie (and yes, I just said that about a computer generated kids cartoon). The animation gets better and better as the show progresses, until it's at least as good as the first movie. The series has a nice mix of action (that's not so scary I wouldn't let my 4 (now 5) year old watch it, and it humor--some of which is only going to be funny to adults which is a nice nod to the fact that grownups will be watching too. Ruff Nut and Tuff Nut always crack me up lol. Anyway, it's a great series that the whole family can enjoy. I almost never give five stars to anything...but I gave it this show.

I'm not generally a big fan of sequels, or TV shows based on a movie, but we have enjoyed this one from the movie on, and the series is no exception. This is actually the second half of the first year of the cartoon series, and the episodes are fun, creative and fantastic, but you HAVE to like dragons. Even if you just barely like dragons, you will be enthralled with the series. The heroes are viking teenagers, who fight evil from the backs of dragons, and their antics and exploits, as expected, are exciting, amusing, and the stuff of legend!

Wish they would have released on Blu-ray for a better picture. Good show ok video quality

We bought both part 1 and part 1, VERY happy with the series. Good story lines, entertaining and best of all the episodes are about 23 mins long so we can parcel out 1, 2 or 3 episodes at night after his bath and before bedtime depending on how late it is. Our 5yr old LOVES this series. Looking forward to the next one coming out.

I collect dragons so watched the first of these shows out of curiosity. The dragons are nothing like I collect but I was immediately sucked in by the different characters and the very different dragons. I'm 57 and my sister is 55 and we now own both movies and we watch the series on television. In fact, I bought her seasons 1 & 2 for her birthday and Christmas. The show has a lot of action and the humor is wonderful. How often these days do you watch a show and find yourself actually laughing out loud? We do with this series.

Doesn't work in U. S. Dvd players.!! How am I supposed to know to watch out for that.??? Very impressed. Been waiting for this since early December and now I have to wait longer and reorder I have a very angry boy due to all this

I'm so excited when I got them and it was so fast for shipping. The package is very new, came out with plastic box and rap. About the series are kind of less quality rander than movie but It is fine because I understand this is TV series so It is too much work to do to produce series come out very quick. About animation always very good as the movie the story is very fun and make me laugh all the time, toothless so cute. I love the movie and can't hold myself to love this series too I hope you will enjoy with it like me.

The dragon stories continue! My 2 year old grandson loves the two long films and the short episodes on this DVD are ideal for times when you only want him to have a short period in front of the TV. Good quality production and engaging stories.

Mir persönlich gefällt die Serie besser als der 2. Kinofilm. Mit Witz und Charme weiß "Dragons" zu unterhalten. Nach und nach erfahren alle Figuren eine genauere Beleuchtung. Auch Nebenfiguren wie Grobian dürfen dabei mal die erste Geige spielen. Der Humor lässt nicht nur das junge Publikum kichern sondern erschließt sich auch dem erwachsenen Zuschauer. Noch dazu werden Werte vermittelt, ohne dabei mit dem erhobenem Zeigefinger des Moralapostels durch die Folgen zu spazieren. Freundschaft, Respekt und Verzeihen, das Hinwegsehen über die Macken anderer, Ehrlichkeit contra Lüge, der Vorteil diplomatischen Verhaltens und dass man zu seinen Taten steht - heldenhaft oder eher tölpelhaft - sind Leitmotive der Episoden. Es macht schlichtweg Spaß, dem drachenreichen Alltag auf Berk zu folgen und dabei viel Vertrautes aus dem eigenen Leben zu entdecken. Ich musste mehrfach schmunzeln und auch laut auflachen. Gelungen!
