Perfect for your Spotify playlists
Upgraded from an older Forerunner when I started running more. The main driver to get this watch was to download playlists from Spotify so I didn't need to take my phone out while running. And it's perfect for this. Really solid all around watch.

Lots of features for mid-range price point
I was torn between fitbit and Garmin, but ultimately fitbit's push towards paid subscription and winding down of development pushed me towards Garmin. For an extra £30 up front, I don't have to pay a £7.99 monthly subscription for the same features. The watch maybe isn't as snazzy looking as some of the others out there, but Garmin are pros and I'd take Accuracy over visual appeal any day. That being said, the square face doesn't look oversized at all and sits nicely on the wrist. The few downsides:- quite a small screen because of a large bezel;- silicone strap can get a bit sweaty as it has to be quite tight;- battery life is probably more around 3-4 days with medium usage. The good things:- I actually really like the way it looks;- music downloads onto the watch from prime and easy to connect your headphones to;- clear visuals;- garmin app is packed with data;- accurate tracking;- some great apps, including Walk with Frodo!- fits generic 20mm watch straps, which are easy to find,- very light;- very customisable.

Decent smart watch, good for fitness, screen responsiveness "OK"
Been wearing for about a month now, and I like it. I love the Garmin apps, and the "gamification" of fitness, whereby it sets you goals and reminds you when you need to "get moving" (helpful when I'm sitting for work all day), and will automatically adjust your goals (like steps in the day) based on how you're getting on. From what I can tell it's accurate, and with only using the GPS for 45-60 minutes a day I think I'm averaging about 5-6 days on a charge (although it's never been below 20%). My only complaint is I find the screen isn't responsive sometimes. i.e. I turn my wrist, the time screen displays, and then I swipe up (or down) to get to a feature and nothing. It doesn't respond. It's strange. I can't quite work out why. Am I starting the swipe outside the "screen zone" and it doesn't recognise it? Too heavy? too soft? Dunno!Would I recommend to a friend? Yes - it's decent value and you get all the Garmin apps etc. Also ... with my version music can be stored on the phone, which means I don't need to take my phone with me if I want to exercise and listen to music - which is a feature I really like.

Does all I need and then some
I like to wear a “proper” watch (ie an over priced, over branded mechanical toy that is outperformed by a £10 Casio in terms of accuracy and whilst I continue to convince myself it looks cool is probably just signalling I’m a tasteless idiot with more money than sense!). So this leaves me with a bit of a dilemma in that I also like the utility of a smart watch and fitness tracker meaning I need something wearable on my other wrist that doesn’t make me look like a total geek. Enter the Garmin Venu Sq Music. It does just about everything I need in a reasonably compact form. Ok so it’s not as small as a wristband type fitness tracker but I’ll tolerate the extra size for the functionality it brings; and that’s a gr k of a lot! The activity tracking seems consistent enough as is the heart rate, blood oxygen etc. I’m not comparing myself to anyone so if it gives me trends in my own health and fitness, that’s good enough. My chosen personal torture involves chucking around various lumps of cast iron and it does a reasonable job of tracking reps/sets and on the occasions I do other stuff like swimming, walking or cycling, it does a good job too. Yes I’m sure a proper athlete would like more sophisticated analytics but for me, this paired with the Garmin Connect App is more than up to the job. Now for the Music bit. You can take pair this with your music streaming service of choice and download your playlists etc and having paired your Bluetooth earbuds, you can leave your smartphone at home whilst you exercise. Of course you’re not going to do that as none of us can be parted from those things for more than five minutes without breaking out into a cold sweat, but at least it can stay in your bag; the limited smartwatch functionality on the Venu isn’t bad but it ain’t an Apple Watch; in this respect you get what you pay for. So now for the things that I enjoy less. Downloading music is a faf and painfully slow. Also when on charge and in Wi-Fi range the watch will want to renew the lease on your downloads. This is doubtless a function of streaming services but tedious nevertheless as again it is sloooow… For all it does and knowing battery capacity is the Achilleas Heal of many of these type of devices, I guess the battery like isn’t bad but I still find the need to charge it up annoying as it seems not to alert me to the need until it’s almost dead and if that’s when I’m about to workout, that’s frustrating albeit recharging is pretty fast. Finally, when looking at value for money, this one is hard to beat hitting a sweet spot in the price vs functionality equation. So good I bought a spare!

Good quality smart watch.
Purchased the Garmin Venu Sq having recently bought one for my wife's birthday and being impressed with the functionality on top if the basic step counter of my trusty G Shock. I haven't encountered any real issues in the 3 - 4 weeks I've owned it for. The watch was easy to set up and the accompanying app provides an array of data that is both useful and easy to navigate. Despite using the GPS function for exercise purposes once a day on average, I am only having to charge it every 5 days or so, which is far better than I was expecting. Considering the price in comparison to some other branded smart watches, I can't fault this product so far.

Good sports watch
Bought for my son and used this watch for a while now.The main reason I bought this rather than a lesser brand such as amazfit (I alps recently bought the gtr 2e for myself which I really love) is the sports modes and data.Yes, a lot of smart watches/activity trackers track the activities, but talking about sporta data, garmin is still the best.My son is very active especially swimming, we'd like him to start thinking more of his training plan and using data to help him.The battery lasts about a week depending on usage, and it's quite comfortable wearing it.Happy son = happy parents
