What does it mean to have "float". I read it in reviews but dont understand what I'm reading. I'm a beginner w my first pair of clip pedals

Float in road pedals translates into what angle you can rotate your foot before breaking out of the clip. Because most peoples feet want to wobble in a crank cycle (shape of knees etc), some float is desirable; but you must consciously rotate your foot more than the float to break loose. There are zero float (foot held precise) cleats, 2 degree float cleats (wobble 2 degrees before breaking out), and 10 degree float cleats(wobble 10 degrees). I use Shimano 2 deg cleats. They take the stress off the knees and ankles; but allow you to break out with an easy rotation.

Can you please confirm that these are genuine Shimano Pedal Cleats?

Yes these are legit. I made the mistake of ordering knock off pedals and had to return them. I found these and ordered two pairs.

Is this sold in as a set of 2 cleats? And are mounting hardware included?

I see a lot of the reviewers are pointing out sellers with fake product. For other buyers, who here is a legit seller of an authentic shimano pedal?

Don't know if this helps but I purchased mine last Oct from Oceanside Distributor. I ride everyday and they are holding up well so I assume they are the real thing. BTW, I also purchased the "coffee shop" clear protectors.
