KorkersPlain Felt Re-Sole Kit

The creek where I fish has very slippery rocks and makes wading without felt nearly impossible. This is how I was successful in applying these felt soles to my old sneakers:1. Wash sneakers in the washing machine to remove dirt. Allow them to dry.2. I traced the size of the shoe onto the felt, then used a utility knife (with a brand new blade) to cut out the shape. Cutting this material is very difficult.3. I applied a thin layer of Barge All-Purpose TF Cement Rubber to both the shoe's sole and the gray side of the felt. I used an acid brush to apply the cement. I allowed this to dry for one hour (it was 90 degrees in my garage with high humidity). After an hour passed, I applied another thin layer and allowed it to rest 15 minutes, then I attached the felt to the shoe sole.4. I applied spring clamps to the areas where it was needed and let them sit for 48 hours. I made sure to pay close attention to the tip of the sneaker where the sole turns upward because the felt is not that compliant without the help of a spring clamp or two. After 48 hours, remove the clamp and enjoy.NOTE: the Barge All-Purpose TF Cement Rubber tube was barely enough for one pair of shoes.I used them in the creek and they work perfectly. If the felt or the glue prematurely fails, I will be back to update this review. Otherwise, assume that things are going well.

Excellent product

For the price is reasonably good. Does a good job on grip.

The product itself was fine. It is extremely difficult to trim to the exact boot size as the felt is made of sturdy material. I was unsuccessful in getting a tight fit between this replacement sole and my boots despite my best efforts to bind it when the glue was drying. I eventually gave up and bought a new pair of wading boots.

Could be wider, barely fit my size 13 boots, but got the job done.

Converted my old flats wading boots to wet wading -- kit worked well, instructions clear. Used Barge Cement for a strong bond.

I gorilla glued these to some hiking boots for fishing rocky break walls and rocky river banks when not using waders. Works great. Im updating my review to inform that gorilla glue did not bond well to my hiking boots. It stuck very well to the felt soles but released from my boot soles after a few weeks. I will try AquaSeal or something similar next time.

I like them well enough. They have a felt side and a hard almost cardboard side. I would've preferred felt on both sides, but they'll do.Review update (04/29/2014) - Used them a considerable amount of times last year on my waders and they worked awesome. While I was skeptical about the underside (the "cardboard") it held up amazingly well in the water and Korkers must know what they are doing. Ugraded this to a 5-star (from 4)

Good felt soles but would be nice if glue was provided

Went on like a charm. Very rugged felt. Hard to cut so make sure you use a razor blade or really good and sharp scissors
