BUYER BEWARE
Being that these are supposedly just paint-your-own stepping stones I honestly didn't assume there would be anything crazy in the fine print and its my fault for not reading the details, but I think its incredibly sneaky and a huge misrepresentation of this product to call it a stepping stone but you can't step on it or use it outside as-is. My kids painted these for their grandparents' garden and it was so fun to give them as a Christmas gift until they were placed in the garden as stepping stones and shattered in pieces when stepped on. Also, these are stepping stones for 'gardens' but this kit only comes with paint that cannot be used outside unless you go and purchase a separate outdoor varnish otherwise the paint will come off in sun or rain or any other type of weather you might encounter outside. So incredibly disappointed and my kids were devastated when they shattered.

Creative roots stepping stones
Okay. My nieces have painted several of these - they love coming over here to craft with me. A few things to know are - sometimes the paints are skimpy - barely enough is provided. I’ve bought enough of these (my mom has as well) to see inconsistencies in the amount of paint provided.it’s only happened twice but twice out of 6 seems like it’s pretty common. Not a problem for me - I’m an artist and have tons of acrylic paints but this might be an issue for others. Another thing to know - there’s a small number of colors provided - not all the colors you’ll see on the box. So - that means you’ll have to teach the kids how to mix other colors to get some of the colors pictured (red+white=pink, for example). Lastly - despite these being called STEPPING STONES - these are not sturdy and are DECORATIVE only! Right after finishing one, my sister put one of the girls stepping stones in the garden and the 2 year old stepped on it and it immediately broke in several places. It’s held somewhat in tact by the soil it was placed deeply into, but yeah - just so you know - don’t ever step on these stepping stones LOL. Knowing these things - I still say it’s a good deal to buy the multipacks and I’ll probably buy again. I just wanted people to be aware of these details before purchasing. They’re a lot of fun and my nieces (ages 7, 4 and 2) had great times painting these - you can’t go wrong spending time with little ones and creating things they’re proud of.. These come already formed - no mixing, no molds, etc - they’re ready to paint - which is great if you only have a short time for crafts but they’re detailed enough that you can take your time and be at it for a while. I recommend.

Perfect, cute and adorable.
Ok people, they are called “stepping stones” but these are hollow porcelain/ceramic type pieces. They are NOT MEANT TO ACTUALLY STEP ON. Even children can not step on these. They are purely meant for decorating an outdoor or indoor space. Again, DO NOT ACTUALLY STEP ON THEM! I never even thought about that until I read the reviews and people are trying to really walk on them. Once you see them and hold them you can see that they are too fragile and not meant for that. But I love them. They are sturdy enough for their intended use. I do not use the paint provided as it isn’t water proof/resistant. And if you do want to put them outside you MUST put a water/weather proof protector on. I loaded about 6+ coats of modgepodge on all of mine before placing outside. This stuff is common sense, but writing it out so people understand what you must do in order to place them outside and have them keep might help the negative reviews be explained.

Waste of money!!!
These seemed to be great little projects for the kids. But once you find your spot in your yard that you want them and put even the pressure of your hand on the top to push into the mulch they break. They are completely hollow inside super disappointing to waste of money and super disappointing for the kids who spent time painting them. And this Happened to all 3 of them!

Are you kidding me?
So, this was one of my daughter’s birthday gifts and it left her in tears. I heard a rattling in one of the packages, and opened it, but didn’t see anything broken. Then. A handful of random, sharp ceramic pieces came out of the bottom hole, (the smallest one stabbing my toddler’s finger as I was scurrying to collect all the pieces and throw the piece of junk out). I’m honestly furious. For a children’s ceramic art project? Why does it have the same, cheap, thin-plastic packaging of a Barbie doll? I can’t even find a way to ask for a refund; only a refund or exchange upon them receiving a package of their broken ceramic? Pathetic product and very disappointing customer service. Don’t purchase.
