I have found that this product can be used with everything from common sand to the most refined silica. Its shaping and carve-a-bility is that of the finest mixes in the industry today. I have used this product and it responds nicely to texture and tooling. The price is also a nice feature where price point is an issue. coloring is one of the greatest assets with this product as you can use white portland in replacement of grey portland cement. This allows you to color the finished piece sooner than normal where water content may effect the over all darkness of the pallet.I give this product a 6 star rating……even though Amazon only allows 5Nathan GiffinVertical Artisans
