Ovitrol XTend Flea Tick Spot On for Large Cats (5 lbs and Over) 3 Month

After trying SEVERAL other flea drops, to no avail, I switched to the Ovitrol 4 yrs ago. I have not had ANY fleas since I started using this!

This product works very well! Within minutes my cat was scratching like crazy I guess cause the fleas were dropping off. I also bought spray for the bed and floor in the cats room. I had been using for years the messy liquid applications that not only made a mess on my cat but also didn't work. I will absolutely buy again.

This works wonderfully and almost immediately on both my cats. And less expensive than what the vet's sell.

This medication made all four of my cat sick with sneezing runny nose and redness of The Knick where I had to bathe the solution off as much as I could I'm very very dissatisfied with this product and at the same time Amazon.com double ordered this product for me inadvertently where I ended up with four boxes instead of two I am seeking a refund on two of those boxes now I need a response from amazon.com

Ovitrol ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT WORK! We have two inside only adult cats who have been flee-free for over two years. Several days ago fleas were discovered on their heads and faces. We ordered Ovitrol immediately and it was delivered on Tuesday, October 29. The cats were treated right away and Ovitrol was applied exactly as the directions indicated. Six days have now passed and there is NO improvement. We examine the cats several times a day and there are NO dead fleas on them, only active, alive fleas. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND OVITROL FOR FLEA TREATMENT OF YOUR CATS.

I bought this because of the special applicator - my cats are very difficult when it comes to applying topical flea treatment & I need something that can be applied where it need to be, quickly! If it takes a lot of holding them in one place to part hair or multiple "squeezes" to get all of the product out - forget it. Once they figure out there is something being put on them, they are outta there! Then half of the liquid ends up on their coat instead of their skin, where it needs to be.Unfortunately, this product was no different, dispite the "pattened applicator". It needed at least 3 squeezes to apply the full dose and maybe the 1st squeeze may have allowed some of the medicine to reach the skin of my smaller cat but the rest of it was wasted on her fur. Since she was licking & gagging on the dried medicine on the fur going from her neck to about half way down her back, later that evening, I had to wash it off w/ dawn liquid. I already went through both cats loosing hair from another topical product & didn't want a repeat of that nightmare. So, because of the large amount of liquid needed for each application, this is not a good product for me and I will not know if it would have been effective at killing fleas or not. I will have to donate the other 2 applications to someone else who needs it & has cats who sit perfectly still while you apply medicine, hahaha.Frontline is still the best as far as topical application goes but it is no longer effective on the fleas here in Florida. I will have to stick to the oral flea treatments. At least there is a new oral product that works on both live fleas & preventing re-infestation. Most effective flea prevention medication I've used. It does irritate my cats neck for the first day and he rolls around in the dirt, but then no fleas for 4 weeks. Noticeably more effective than Advantage 2.
