IF you have a Davis weather station and you want to record data from it, especially if you are not around. The logger can be set to record many days or a few days depending on how many days you intend on waiting before downloading it.Now Davis has you a bit here, you have to have their logger to do that, no other company has it, so you have to have one and it doesn't come with the station. The logger plugs into the back of the console and comes with cables and software. If you have the Davis Envoy? well that fits inside it and it works fine.The software does what it says, keeps a record, you get great reports and you can adjust your console or Envoy with the software. It is a good product for us Davis Weather Junkies to have.I gave it 4 stars because Davis hasn't updated yet their software. One thing to remember, there are other weather software that works with the Davis, but you have to have the Weatherlink software with the data logging to use it.The logger comes either IP (hooks into your Modem via an Ethernet cable, which comes with it. YOu can also use any Ethernet and take advantage of the the Davis weatherlink.com site; a USB logger and they still carry the serial unit (you need a serial port on your computer or purchase a serial to usb adapter. works just fine, comes with the drivers).

Uploads data to Weather Underground and CWOP smoothly. I am able to view my weather data from my computer with ease. It buffers a lot though. But it works and does what I want it to do. Otherwise it is a great software would recommend this software to others who are buying a Davis weather station.

Davis quality unsurpassed

I hate buying this thing... I just need a freaking serial adapter (I use weewx, not windows SW) and I have to buy this whole thing... sigh. However it works as advertised.
