Nice little car.
I wanted to put a captured German vehicle in a diorama I was creating and this car fit the bill. Went together pretty easy, but I got confused with the instructions and put the bumpers on upside down. The drawing wasn’t helpful.

It has some very good detail..
This model is of a car that was an ICON of WWII movies especially spy flix. I have been waiting for a model of this vehicle for years..

Not my favorite model by a long shot!
Admittedly I am no master modeler, however, I do have enough experience under my belt to know when a model has been over engineered. I think that's what happened here. I purchased this model as part of a diorama using a miniart wall kit and a German Officers kit. From the jump the car gave me trouble as the moment I tried to trim the windows off the sprue they literally snapped into pieces. They were terribly brittle and flimsy and despite the most delicate handling continued to almost disintegrate in my hands. The interior of the car, namely the doors, lacked any real detail and yet other parts of the car were OVER detailed for a car of this scale. If we were talking a 1/24th or 1/25th scale model, bring it on! The more the better! But for a car of this scale it seemed as if the designers were model-sadists or something. I wouldn't have been surprised to have to glue on lug nuts and the trunk release button. Don't get me wrong, I don't shy away from detail and actually enjoy the challenge of detailed models but, though I can't exactly put my finger on it, this one somehow went a bit beyond that. After days of stressing myself out one tiny piece after another I finally decided to turn the thing into a smouldering wreck and use it as cover for a different diorama all together. The officers in the original diorama will now be riding around in a Tamiya 1/35 German Steyr 1500A/01 instead. For the record, I LOVE Tamiya and seem to purchase their kits almost exclusively despite all the other manufacturers out there so this isn't a Tamiya bashing review. The kit is unique in that there aren't many "cars" in this scale and for those that truly love creating their own detail the kit may be perfect - especially if it's intended to be the focal point to the diorama. But it is NOT something for someone who wants a background piece or for someone looking for a model to casually construct on a rainy spring day. Bring your "A+" game fellas. You're gonna need it.
