Solid substitute with one caveat
Pretty satisfied with these. Previously had ~15W incandescent bulbs in my holiday season window candles and went with these LEDs. No LED is an exact replacement for a regular bulb, and these were a tad brighter than before. But these were perfectly fine in both relative warmth and brightness, plus I like the energy savings.I did have one odd product hiccup tho. After a few evening's use, I discovered the glass of one bulb (still properly lighted in its socket) had cracked and most separated from its base due to what I can only assume was a stress fracture. That is, it left guts of the lit LED totally exposed. Figure it must be a random defect, so I'm keeping that one on hand as a short term backup. (The obvi safety risk is real, thus I would be interested in hearing seller's feedback on this unexpected experience. Seems like a quality control issue like that deserves a responsible response, perhaps courtesy replacement.)Otherwise, I rate product a good practical solution for my particular application. Well packaged and shipped quickly, too.

Intense red for tiny long lasting bulbs
Intense saturation of red color for tiny bulbs, beautiful in many lamps or ceiling chandeliers, adds drama and romance to room. I always purchased some adapter sockets from Amazon of course, so if the lamp uses a regular sized bulb instead of a tiny chandelier socket, I can still use these little wondrous red bulbs. They make a perfect night light in the bedroom or for TV too. In fact, at only burning a a few leds, that last for years, I never turn some off. They are clear outside, with a red filament, totally different and superior to the red ‘party light’ bulbs you typically see in a store. Fabulous find!

Dimmable indeed
They come wrapped in foam, inside individual boxs, inside a little box inside of a bigger box. Well. Wrapped for shipping. The bulbs themselves are clear, and similar looking to edison bulbs. Once they turn on they glow blue, similar to a black light in color. Can be a bit piercing at night. I will have to buy a dimmer for my lamp in order to compensate. Overall a good buy, looking forward to the long life on them. They are also dimmable.

good for "regular" night lights
Used these bulbs as replacements for my night light bulbs. They are about as bright as my 7 watt incandescent bulbs but uses (according to the specs) only 1 watt. The bulb doesn't seat all the way into the fixture - but it doesn't affect the way it works. If the bulbs are exposed - they will not look as nice as a bulb that does seat completely - you can see a gap at the base. But since these are behind a shield in my light fixture, it's not visible. Also - the base is metal and is exposed - does this create a mild shock hazard if the base is exposed? Possibly - but again - for me - not an issue as the bulb is covered by the lamp shield. I would hesitate to use these bulbs if they were not shielded. Also - does not work in my fixture that had a day/night dimmable feature. That particular fixture dims the bulb according to the ambient light - the bulb flickered like crazy. So good for run of the mill night lights, but not dimmable day/night ones.

Compare brightness of LED bulb to regular.
This is a 4 watt, red filament, clear glass bulb. The light brightness is more intense than a forty watt regular lamp. Will not function properly with a dimmer. locate a chart that compares an LED, bulb with a regular bulb, forbrightness. This bulb is good for the application. Wanted good visible light for night application, that does notcause night blindness, reducing night vision.Would appreciate knowing, the light wave length, some wave length affect vision.

Does not dim well, has 60Hz flicker
These do not dim well at all – I tried to use it in a Himalayan salt lamp with a dimmer – it will either shut off, go from bright to super dim with the slightest touch of the dimmer, or start flashing – this bulb is really not good with dimmers for bulbs of this size (e.g. salt lamps, meditation lamps). It also has an obvious 60Hz flicker which really bothers my eyes. If you don't care about dimming or the flicker, they do have a nice color light and are quite bright.

Great for window candles
After years of problematic filament candelabra bulbs, these LEDs look great. The old incandescent bulbs suffered from gradual darkening, burnouts, and failures from minor bumps. It's only been a couple of weeks, but I expect these LED bulbs to be far more durable and long-lasting. They look just like the old bulbs, too - their "warm white" color temperature is very slightly cooler/whiter than filament bulbs, but not so much that anyone will notice. (Since there seems to be some confusion, note that these bulbs are for 120v use, i.e., fixtures or candles that operate on house electricity. They won't work in battery-operated candles.)

These lights dimmed dramatically at about 10 -18 months of 24/7 use in cool area.
Original Review:I set up 2 of these lights as soon as I got them so I know they've been running for about 10 months now. I noticed that one was significantly dimmer compared to the other.Overall, still good light but there's no way you can get the 25,000 hours life span out of these. 10 months is about 7,300 hours.Update:18 months after initial review and I noticed the second bulb that I installed was significantly dimmer. Looks like we can expect 13,000 hours life span, MAX when used 24/7.
