Not sure about laminate floors. I've never read the back concerning that flooring. As far as how one applies it I find is a personal choice. You can use a swiffer pad or a sponge mop. The mop takes more times as you have to wash afterwards. But the sponge mop I think applies it more evenly as floors are not even. It's up to the individual.
