This item was slow to arrive for a start.The quality is poor the grooves for the rear panels did not line up and the side were not accurately drilled resulting in it being out square.The pictures show the there is a discrepancy in the hole positions on the two sides, one side finishes up flush and the other with 5-6mm protruding.It not great, if I'd known how bad it was it would have been returned, but you don't know how bad things are until it assembled.I cannot recommend this, there are cheaper and better units available.

Useful but cheaply made shelf unit, some of the "veneer" was already breaking away, with very sharp edges. The description states that it is modular and shelves can be removed or adjusted depending on what you are displaying! It IS NOT adjustable, there are set positions for every shelf, with screw holes to suit, the backing pieces are slotted into the gaps between each shelf, so no possibility what so ever of removing any shelf, this would if possible, reduce the strength of the unit, which has no cross stabalisation. I expect the description to match what I receive. I wouldn't like to hang on a wall without using serious metal hangers, not supplied, and fixings to suit the low density "wood".

bought one to test out for putting into several properties easy to put together and it was so good bought another with intention of buying more week by week and making up but annoyingly this one has not been machined properly and as the photo shows the grooves don’t line up properly and so the backs won’t slide in !! - so annoying!scrapped this one and won’t be buying anymore

After reading the reviews I was prepared for a damaged product but since it was the only one of the exact right size I had no choice.The product shipped from amazon in Barcelona via Delgium and into Rochester with DPD. The corners of the box were horribly crushed and ripped such that I opened it while the delivery guy waited. Only one piece had a corner missing and since that would be behind the bookcase and not visible it would work for me. A little glue remedied the damage satisfactorily.During assembly, I found more dents which corresponded with damage to the box, and some very sharp edges from the routing of the plastic covering on the chipboard. More significantly, the outside faces of the sides had noticeable issues on most of the corners which would have been a problem if they were visible. These were not down to transportation.However, having said all that, the 'light oak' bookshelf sits between a beech cabinet and a wall and doesn't look out of place.The wood is only 12mm think rather than the 18mm of my other furniture but the shelf length is less and it gets away with it.One positive thing to note, I feel, is that unlike some comparable items (Ikea), the hardboard on the back consists of individual panels that slot in to each compartment, aligning with the grooves on all four sides. This contrasts with other designs that have one piece of hardboard across the whole unit with panel pins around the edges which are less robust and suffer if someone smashes items into the compartments.Would I buy again? If the shelves had something next to them to hide the sides then yes. As a freestanding unit, the damage to the sides, which can't be put down to transportation was too severe.

This item had slight damaged at the top and bottom of the unit but because it was almost built and I could hide the damage at the bottom of the unit I just Placed something on the top to hide the damage there. When I received my item the box was burst open at one side but because it was heavy I couldn’t examine the goods inside until the joiner came to build it for me. Lovely unit for the price and solid and it hasn’t stopped me liking the the unit itself and if it wasn’t for the damage I would definitely recommend. Just think they should be thoroughly checked before being sent out as I might have thought it happened in transit but to much of a coincidence that both ends were damaged. Sorry I couldn’t give it five stars.

The shelves are good and strong, however i wanted it to mount on the wall ! It arrived with the box being taped up 3 separate pieces of cardboard and battered to hell ! The wall mounting fittings advertised as supplied were missing so was going to send back but as no collection option and unable to carry it miles to send back i ended up buying brackets myself and wall mounting !!! So not as pleased with this as i might have been !!!!!

It’s a great 2 tier shelve and quiet sturdy as well. Please be aware that product description on amazon is completely wrong. The inside shelves are not removable and there are no brackets or wall mounted supplies Provided. ( as mentioned in the product description on amazon website)

I bought these to stop my rabbits getting behind the settee, from the sides. I put the back panel on the wrong way round, then bought some edging strips. I use the storage space to store cushions :)
