El Torito Sweet Corn Cake, 7.4 oz

Since I left Southern California where all the El Torito Restaurants are, I was buying these in the grocery stores whenever I visit family in San Diego. Now I don't have to wait because Amazon carries it! So easy to prepare: put the mix, melted butter, water and creamed corn in the 8x4 loaf pan. Mix it, then bake it. El Torito always served a scoop of this delicious corn cake with every entree -- I wonder if they still do.

Pretty good. I added extra cream corn, extra sugar and a little cinnamon on the second batch and it tasted much better. I am always making creamy, southern corn pudding for family dinners so I tried this out and modified it a little and they loved it. I love the Tomalito that a local restaurant here in the area named Chevy's has so I was looking for something close to that. Pretty close after adding extra creamed corn and sugar.

Not what I remembered at El Torito restaurant, dry with big much flavor.

Excellent flavor, easy to make

Thinking I was ordering the pk of 3 I was shocked when I received only one in the mail today. $9 for a single pack is WAY too much for this and I will be much more cautious next time. IF there is a next time.Shame on you Mexgrocer.

I could not find these at my store and it makes a great side dish.
