Painted to resemble a 16-piece glass shade, this opal ball shade is actually one solid glass globe. The glass surface is raised where the paint is applied to approximate the look of "came" which was used to hold together shades made from cut sections of glass. Faux came was a common shade treatment from the turn of the century through WWII. The Classic 6" Opal Ball Painted Shade is a natural for porch lighting, including, but not limited to, the Dayton, Alma, Newport, Silverton, and Liberal.
