How deep is this mattress topper?

Mine got to about 1 1/2". The picture shown looks like at least 2"

If I were to take this to college would I be able to transport it back and forth fairly easy?

Does this trap heat? I have a teenager who's always hot & sleeps with the ceiling fan on even in winter. Don't want this to add to his body heat.

Hi. No it does not. I am going through perimenopause and you can't imagine how hot I can get at night, this mattress pad does not trap heat--I live in Florida. I love it and definitely recommend it. My daughter slept on it the other night and told me how comfy it is. Plus the price is unbelievable.
