If you are looking for a portable CD player, this is the one you need. Let me explain why. I have purchased this product myself, having been asked to review the portable CD player by Oakcastle. I will be perfectly honest with my review and not let their request sway my judgement. I will be perfectly honest, when asked to review this product, a portable CD player, my first thought was why; why has this product been brought out? After all, aren’t we all using streaming services these days? Then I thought of the sheer volume of CD’s I own that will never be found on a streaming service, such as ‘fan club’ CD’s, CD’s by small artists with local appeal, and the like. Firstly, I had limited expectations. After all, it’s £26.95, (at the time of writing), but at the time I purchased it there was a further 25% discount. Cheap and cheerful, or so I thought. First impressions, upon opening the packaging, was how incredibly well packed it was. I have received items costing ten times as much not so well packaged. For the price you get the portable CD player, (obviously!) a set of headphones, a 3.5mm jack lead to plug into a portable speaker, and a remote for the headphones to allow skipping tracks, pausing and so on without having to use the small buttons on the unit itself. Secondly, this device has multiple ways of powering it. You can use two AA batteries, (a set are supplied), you can use the supplied USB lead plugged into a USB adapter in a wall socket, into a power pack, or plugged into the USB port of a laptop or PC. It can also be used as car CD player, most cars have a USB port for power these days, but don’t have a CD player! Moving onto the sound quality; I tried the supplied headphones first. I have to say, I was surprised. It may not be Bang and Olufsen quality, but it is a tiny fraction of the price. The sound was good, and not at all tinny, as I had expected. I was listening to a solo guitarist, (video attached) and the sound was clear and crisp. I added the bass boost, and although I could tell the difference, for this music it really wasn’t required. I then tried the CD player with a set of my own Sennheiser wired headphones, and then this machine came into its own. With a pair of good quality headphones, the sound had a warmth, and richness that belies the price tag. I have tried a wide range of music with the CD player, from rock, rock and roll, singer/songwriter, solo guitar, pop, and even classical. All the different genres sounded excellent; the classical music, when paired to a portable speaker, had a clarity which was completely beyond my expectations. The portable CD player can also be used in a variety of modes, you can play tracks randomly, repeat a track, repeat the CD, and even intro mode, which plays the first ten seconds of each track to help find a particular song you may wish to listen to. I have used it whilst walking round the house and garden; there were no issues at all. A sliding hold button stops the other buttons being caught accidentally whilst the unit is in a bag or a pocket. Oakcastle are a company that clearly take a pride in their products. And so they should; I cannot recommend this highly enough. Anyone looking for a portable CD player for use in a car, caravan, whilst walking etc will not be disappointed. The sound quality is excellent, particularly when paired with a good quality speaker or headphones. It has every feature you will look for, and more besides. If you register the product with Oakcastle they will extend the warranty to three years. Buy it – you can’t go wrong.

I've grown up with quality hi-fi (I'm 78) but needed an inexpensive portable CD player. I read through the reviews on Amazon and finally settled this Oakcastle CD-10 - made in Cambridge, UK. I'm very impressed with the quality. For its size, the sound quality is very good and the volume, which reviewers of other portable CD players - including the expensive ones - complain is very low, cannot be said of this one! The earphones are prefectly adequate and handle both treble and bass acceptably. I'm amazed at the features it offers and the instruction book which accompanies is clear, precises and easy to follow. I have ordered a small leather bag to safely carry it in. The player measures 17cm (allowing for the earphone jack when plugged in) x 17cm x 2.5cm. Courtesy of Amazon PRIME, the player arrived the day after ordering and was very well packed. I'm VERY pleased with this purchase.

Good CD player. Sound quality excellent

I've been using this a lot for the past few months. It's a fantastic cd player for the money. I've been playing it connected to a USB power bank, it hardly draws any power so lasts for ages before needing to recharge the power bank. The sound quality is great. It's got a handy wired remote which is useful because the buttons on the device itself are a little small. The display on it is a little hard to read. It's got some fairly heavy use over the past few months and never missed a beat so am very happy with this product.

After searching for the best suitable portable cd player. I decided on this one😁 and I have no regrets 😁 it’s amazing 🤩 very delighted with it. Beautifully presented ✔️easy to use ✔️ The design of the cd player looks amazing ✔️ Lightweight ✔️excellent sound quality ✔️ Takes 2 AA batteries. Comes with 2 supplied so can start listening to your favourite straight away 👏😁 This is definitely something to have around. Incase you can’t get access to online for a while . So a good backup. Definitely value for money and i highly recommend 😁👍 Would make a nice gift 🎁

I’ve been looking for a good portable CD player for years, and tried a few different options that all seem to have audible background hiss – something that drives me mad. This one doesn't! It's compact enough to fit in my hoodie pocket and the controls along the front of the device are surprisingly resilient to accidental pressing. The anti-shock works really well and there's no skipping of tracks even when you're moving around. I've listened to mulitple albumbs on one set of AA batteries, so it's more power efficient than my old portable player! Highlights: - No “background hiss” - Takes standard AA batteries, none of this non-replaceable lithium ion rubbish - Anti-shock - USB power cable My only negative point is that it there is no “line out” option, like classic CD players used to have to by-pass the internal amp and allow connection to external devices with better audio quality. We need more CD players like this one - user replacable batteries, no audio hiss, good amplification for even audiophile headphones.

Advertised as having a 'line out' (often referred to as 'aux out'), but it does not. It has a headphone line out only, the two are quite different and if the manufacturers do not know the difference, they should just try 'googling it'.

besser als viele andere Geräte, Lautstärke wird über Rädchen eingestellt, zusätzlich kann man die Lautstärke auch über die Fernbedienung mit einem Rädchen einstellen, die Kopfhörer sind recht gut, sie sind sehr laut, also ist das Gerät meiner Meinung nach nicht gerade für Kinder geeignet! Trotzdem besser als CD Player bei denen man jedes Mal erneut die Lautstärke mit einzelnen knopfdrücken anpassen muss. Batteriebetrieb funktioniert gut mit den mitgelieferten nicht wiederaufladbaren Batterien, ich habe vor Akkus zu verwenden, ob das problemlos möglich ist werde ich noch testen. Fernbedienung sinnvoll, das kabel ist dadurch doppelt so lang mit den Kopfhörern, kann also auch in den Rucksack gesteckt werden, ist dann aber auch ein Kabelgewirr, da ist die Klemme an der Fernbedienung echt eine Hilfe! Keine Unterbrechungen beim Abspielen unterwegs, das ist super! Toll ist auch das ich bessere Kopfhörer (over-ear) anstecken kann und zwar auch nach der Fernbedienung! Bass Funktion super für die mitgelieferten Kopfhörer, bei meinen over-ear Kopfhörern brauche ich das allerdings gar nicht erst. Soll auch über Lautsprecher funktionieren, noch nicht getestet, brauche ich daheim nicht, was ich mir hier noch wünsche wär ein SD-Karten-Eingang als Anregung. Erstmal alles super bei dem Gerät nach einer Nutzungsdauer von ein paar Tagen! Eine Bedienungsanleitung gibt es übrigens nicht in Papierform - da wurde am falschen Ende gespart, ich hab noch nicht mal eine Info gehabt wie man das Gerät ausschaltet (2 mal Stoptaste drücken!), keine Info welche Batterientypen (außer 2 AA) und ob wiederaufladbare Batterien funktionieren, auch nicht auf deren Webseite steht dazu etwas - das fehlt mir. Trotzdem ein super Gerät!!! (hatte davor einen katastrophalen CD Player den ich nach 3 Tagen ins Geschäft zurück gebracht hatte weil allein die Lautstärkeregelung so furchtbar war das ich nur noch entnervt war, der Anti-schock hat bei dem alten Gerät auch versagt, da weiß ich zu schätzen was für ein gutes Gerät ich jetzt hier habe!

Baladeur CD génial (avec piles) je le recommande vivement , son , reprises de vos musiques etc...

El discman de momento funciona bien. El sonido es bueno. Es muy práctico que funcione con pilas para tener mayor autonomía además, también a través de usb. Estoy muy contenta de poder escuchar antiguos CDs que ya p nsaba no poder volver a escuchar. También se puede escuchar en el coche. Yo todavía no lo he probado en el vehículo.
