Good syn for the price
I usually use syn oil since you can go a bit longer between changes before it starts to breakdown. I just changed the oil and after 1k miles in our 2002 Mazda MPV van (125k miles) it still looks brand new. I usually use Mobile 1 so I'm curious to see how it holds up compared to one of the top rated oils out there. If it can give 90% of what Mobile 1 does, I'll be very happy. At different miles I not only check the oil itself but keep an eye on mileage and how the vehicle is performing. Standard oil (Castrol type) usually starts to fade around 4k miles with Mobile 1 usually giving me 8-10k. This holds true in my 2001 Toyota Tundra also. Going to change the oil in it with the Texas Tea this weekend to see how it is. Giving it 5 stars for now based on the price only. If the van and the truck can go 7k or so on it, I'll keep the rating. If it starts fading around the same time as conventional oils, then I'll drop it to a 1 since no use in paying a premium for syn oil if it doesn't hold up longer.

Too much of a price increase
I used this oil when doing my last oil change, but price has gone up 27.00 for the same six quarts. It has priced itself out of my market thus the one star.

Bad Packaging by Vendor
Ok, first of all I receive shipments from Amazon 2-3X a week. I buy quite a bit for home and shop use. I figured I would try the Texas Tea oil I saw here for some of my kids cars to save them some money. I have 9 other cars/hot rods and I run Royal Purple in all of them. I received a 6-pack case of Texas Tea today as well as a 12-pack case of Royal Purple, both by UPS my same regular driver. RP arrived as normal in great shape. The Texas Tea arrived with no damage to outer box but when I opened it, the TT packaging was saturated with Oil. One of the bottles was slightly loose enough to spill out during shipment. Maybe a fluke but not a first good experiance. As for the quality, I will write a review later on that after I do some simple testing. I am not an Engineer but I plan on during some basic tests. I have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD that I alway run RP and initially I did some basic heat tests comparing the exhaust manifold temps running regular brand X full synthetic. I saw a drop in Exhaust manifold temps in the 25-30 degree F. Lower temps mean less friction resulting in less wear on your engine internals. I'm due for an oil change so I am curious to see what happens when I swap to the Texas Tea.So yes the price is great on Texas Tea but Engine Rebuilds cost a lot more so I will see the results after some basic tests. I also emailed Texas Tea Oil today to get some comparison data sheets on TT versus RP and others. Let's see what they come back with.

Seems like good oil
I have 5500 miles on my first install of this oil in a Crown Vic 2003 with 110K miles. I do alot of highway driving so it's not a grueling test but the engine still has that synthetic oil smooth idle just like other synthetics I've had to pay way more to get. And it comes in six quart packages that works well for me 'cause the engine takes six quarts. Didn't give it the fifth star because I haven't changed it out yet to see what it looks and feels like.

Bargain for 100% synthetic oil
Product is a bargain in cost for a API certified 100% synthetic motor oil. Major brands labeled as "full synthetic" such a Mobil 1 and Castrol Syntec are just that... A non 100% synthetic motor oil. After a court battle, in the USA a motor oil that labels itself full synthetic DOES NOT have the requirement to be 100% sythetic. In Europe and Japan motor oil are required to be 100% synthetic in make up to be labeled synthetic. Mobil 1 and others selling their products in these other countries have a different makeup that IS 100% synthetic. But the off the shelf "Full Synthetic" motor oil in the USA is Not 100% synthetic. That is a fact all consumers in the USA should be aware of. Most people as well as I have been purchasing products that we believed were 100% synthetic which in fact are not or required to be in the USA. They are still good, but are not the original formulas that they once were. Do some research on this topic and it is easy to see.

Texas Tea motor oil
I would not know how to tell if this oil is as good as, better than, or not as good as the oil I can get locally from any of the major oil companies. I take with a grain of salt their statement that it is somehow 100% synthetic where the others are not---that hasn't been proven to me---and actually I'd not concede that even if true that it will do a better job for me. Maybe it will---or maybe it won't. But I'll continue to buy it as long as it is cost effective and delivered to my door at competitive cost because I won't expect miracles from using it and will continue to change my oil and filters as before. Having said all that----Yes, I've been very satisfied with it so far.

As good as Amsoil Signature Synthetic
I have been using Texas Tea 5W-20 in my Huyndai Azera and am very happy with the performance of this oil. The engine seems to be quieter, and I have also noticed an increase in fuel mileage by about 1 mile per gallon. Out of curiosity I checked the Amsoil website and compared the Texas Tea 5W-20 to the Amsoil Signature 5W-20. The Texas Tea is the same as Amsoil signature oil at half the price. Amsoil $10.15 per Quart, and Texas Tea $5.00 a quart. At this price this will be the oil I use in all my cars from now on.

Works great!
Texas Tea has worked great for my Honda CRV AWD. The car easily starts in below freezing temperatures when I travel to the mountains. Texas Tea is also a 1% for the Planet member and donates 1% of revenues to American Forests-cool.
