This brand of shave soap is unsurpassed in quality!! Since my husband switched from the typical cartridge-style shaving and shaving cream over to wet shaving with a safety razor and this soap, I have noticed his face is much softer, better moisturized, younger looking, and he has less irritation and ingrown hairs from the shave. He says the lather is unsurpassed in its thickness and the smooth shave it provides.We won't be switching back. In fact, we bought this lavender scented soap for me to start shaving my legs with too! We've been buying from this merchant exclusively for over a year now, and in the one instance we had a mixup with our delivery, there was excellent communication with the vendor and a quick, satisfactory resolution.Accept no substitutes. This is the shave soap you should go.

As a hard tallow soap, it takes some effort to get a creamy lather, but you can get there eventually. I like the scent - very much a soft 'British Gentlemen's' cologne. It does tend to dry out on your face rather quickly, so don't dawdle after brushing it on.

This stuff is incredible. Mantic59 gave it 9 out of 10, so I had to try it. I usually have a hard time working up a good lather with soaps because of our hard water. But no problems at all with this stuff. It just takes a little bit (maybe 8 seconds of brushing the soap) and you can mix up enough cream to make 3 passes.The scent: I've grown to like more and more. And my wife loves it, so that's always nice. Plus, the smell really stays with you. I've definitely had other soaps with scents that I liked more, but after you use them, none of the scent seems to have transfered. I'm going to try the almond scented one next.I would recommend buying the one in a bowl first since this soap doesn't fit the normal sized wood shaving bowl.It's a bit pricey, but for what you're getting and for how long it will last, it's well worth it.

This is the best shave soap I have ever used, and I have used several. Makes a great lather, lasts a long time, maintains lubrication, moisturizes well without drying. I highly recommend D.R. Harris shave soaps!

This is my go-to shaving soap! Foams well and I get a great shave!

I buy one for my husband every 5 years, that's how long they last. Great shaving soap, gentle and smells good. But I am not exactly keeping the company in business.

Rather plain aroma, similar to matilija poppies. It's a "nice" shaving soap, but not the most luxurious available.
