Nice project to do with child or grandchild!
I bought this for my 8 yr old grandson. The good: very well designed, clear instructions, and an 8 yr. old can manage this with adult supervision / help.Could be better: The tire treads were difficult to assemble and get onto the wheels. After several frustrating attempts, I had to take over for my grandson.Needs Improvement: This is billed as a STEM project. The instruction manual should have a page or two about solar energy, and how electricity is made by the solar cell.Overall, I still give it 5 Stars. Well designed & executed, and the parts fit together very well. No glue needed!

Fun toy to build and play with!!
Assembly was fun and easy. All parts were there except batteries. My nephew and I had a great time building it and playing with on a sunny day. Great for any kid who likes science and building!!

Tire treads broke while being assembled
It looks like the model in the picture, but the treads on the tire that were supposed to go around the tire itself partly broke off and was impossible to repair...unless I crazy glue it on the tire...spare parts for fragile items like that should’ve been included.

Must buy for future space and science enthusiasts
This product was an awesome learning experience for my 10 yr old. It moves well and the solar power function is actually pretty cool for a toy like this. Reccomend for future science and space enthusiasts 💯

Needs adult support
The packaging is secure and easy to separate. This is marked for ages 8+. But this is almost impossible to do without heavy adult supervision. It is very difficult to assemble, but the process of assembly is very exciting for children.

He loves it!
My son has enjoyed putting this together! Toy is well made and larger than I thought it would be. It's kept my autistic son occupied and engaged!

Poorly constructed, terrible instructions.
This kit was purchased for a group of 1st graders who are deep in studys of both green " solar power" and the Mars lander. This kit seemed to be perfect. Yet the directions are vague. The tires were broken before we ever even got them out of the bag. I am a mechanical engineer and have built highly complex equipment but there is no amount of care that could be taken to build this with out some breakages. A interlocking tire must be stretched over a rim. Two were already in two pieces in the bag and the rest followed suit.I had to 3d print a set up so as not to let down a 40 plus kids.Several places there were at some time clearly retainers of some sort in the design but have been omitted for some reason. You can see the weak rubber treads are very flawed even un touched still in the supports. This could have been a very useful teaching tool but short sighted people or cost cutters canceled that out.I do not recommend for any age.

Perfect "Build-It" Gift for the Young Scientist. Follow the Lead, GrandPa!
Action toys make the best gifts for youngsters. When you combine a project with science implications, you've met the best of both worlds. This one is for my step-grandson.
