The set is beautiful- makes an impressive gift. My partner was so pleased and commented how beautiful it is- in its own case with handle. Easy to take along on a car trip.

Ok, this product is likely a hodge-podge of 3rd party components, and they don't necessarily all seem to blend well. But I do like the board itself, mostly. Here's the list:Note: I'm keeping the board, but against my better judgement. I'm also spending additional money changing the pieces for nicer ones. Silly really.Cons (not in order):1. Pieces are sized ok for the board, but are too small for the storage troughs. As a result they jumble around quite a bit.2. Pieces are a brown and blonde wood color, and on a gray/black/white board it just doesn't look quite right and they don't "match".3. The pieces are VERY rough cut to the point where they just don't slide across the board smoothly. This is a reason for me buying other pieces. I've ordered the 1 1/4" Bello backgammon pieces as replacesments ("Uria Stone", whatever that is), and hopefully that'll help.4. The pieces don't stack well in your hand and when I try to hold a small stack in between my forefinger and thumb, they stack shoots apart. I think these pieces were just a bargain basement afterthought.5. The pieces not only are frictive on the flat of the board itself, but also pull up on the triangle fake "leather", whatever vinyl it may be. New pieces may fix this.Pluses:1. The board itself is clean and sharp. It looks great opened and closed, and the closing is smooth and solid feeling, with shiny latches that match it well.2. The dice cups look and behave well. I find them to be comfortably sized.3. The board is the right size.....any smaller and I start to feel as if the game is cramped.If I have time, I'll update with how it looks with new high quality pieces. Feels silly though because the pieces are costing me $22, making this set an increasingly bad investment. We'll see.

Really nice board..

We gave the backgammon set to our daughter-in-law for Christmas--she exults that she has beaten her husband (our son) lots of times already. It was a hit!

The clasp could be a little more secure but that is my only negative comment. Overall it is a very nice board and I would buy again.

Love it. I have so much fun playing it. Decent quality for the price. And I love the case.
