3 x nets of barley straw for natural algae treatment in ponds direct from farm

I use these in my frog pond, it started looking a bit green, the frogs and tadpoles dont seem to mind how green the water is, i have newts as well, i put a pond liner in my garden, it filled up with rainwater and the wildlife found it, birds also drink from the very shallow end so i dont want to use any chemicals. the straw seems to do a good job and the residents dont seem to object.

Took a week or so to sink down and by that time the water was clear. The birds use them as rafts to take a drink, very happy with the result.

Worked a treat out pond is 1.5 metres by 2 metres including small beach, newly established, with 30% plants (work in progress) and it cleared within 3 weeks. I did sieve out any established gunk first. Good Buy!

Put two bales in a very opaque pond and after 3 weeks I have lovely clear water and I can see down a good 6-8 inches.

I have a very small pond which was always covered in the green slimy stuff but after using this for about 5 weeks the water has cleared (I have been scooping the slime off the top with a strainer) works a treat for me, better than the expensive liquids I have tried

Easy to use just throw it in the pond it floats about for a bit like an island for the wildlife to land on and then it sinks to the bottom. It has cleared up my weed problem Used 2 to start with as the problem was bad am just about to use the last one just to keep the pond clear. Natural solution for a wildlife pond.

Having a small pond of about 4 square metres surface, these straw bales kept the pond algae free all through the summer. Easy to use, just pop in the pond and it slowly sinks to the bottom over time where it gets to work.
