Bought this for my 11 year old son playing Little League Majors and 12U travel ball.... he LOVES them!! First off, the stars and stripes pattern is AWESOME! It matches whatever uniform he's in. As for the actual chest protector, I don't think there;s a better or safer set out there. It's more than just a pad. There are actual plastic cells filled with soft material and padding to protect the player. Shin guards are great and easy to put on. Helmet is the hockey style. A perfect fit for a 11-12 year old. When he grows out of this, I plan to buy the same set in a larger size. The only thing it doesn't come with is an unneeded, but little league required, throat protector. I had to get another brand's throat protector and it fit ok, but would've preferred using a Rawlings one made specifically for their helmet. Not an issue with travel ball though as it's not required.
