Mother Nature is more Jungle than Garden of Eden : The Teeth Of The World Are Sharp
Mother Nature is more Jungle than Garden of Eden proclaimed much of Emily Dickinson's Poetry and The Teeth Of The World Are Sharp .Time + Death , Grief + Loss are explored here in poetry just as compact as her's .Poe - that Dark Master of Gothic Dreams - stalks this hellish hall of Shadows . A Purgatory inhabited only by Angels + Demons .Specter reminds me of Dickinson's Because I Could Not Stop For Death . That same curious intimacy is quite chilling .

Teen-esque navel gazing
As a major fan of gothic / dark poetry I was very disappointed with this purchase and I struggled to finish it. Ultimately it comes across as a bit moody-teen-in-black-painted-bedroom, trying just a bit too hard. Perhaps I'm too old to appreciate it, but even so I don't rate it highly in its own right in terms of writing or production values.

It was ok
Well some of the poems were fine but in general I was not a big fan of this book. But everyone has a different taste.

Haunting and Captivating
"Blurred recollections chime theirrazor-like rhythmsstabbing the presentwith daggers of the past."---Black Swan, page 74 in "The Teeth of the World are Sharp"Love. Love. LOVE. I sat down and started to read this book, thinking I would read just a few poems and come back to it later. I finished it in one sitting. I, for one, love dark poetry and Salvo certainly did not disappoint. The words are beautiful and draw you in, each poem becomes it's own entity. The illustrations are HAUNTING and transport the reader into a visual world where the poems are almost acted out in front of you. My favorite poem was "Cut", which was simple and rhythmic and I adored it.To the author: Thank you for writing poems at 4 a.m. The world most definitely needs these musings.

Didn't live up to expectations
Falls short of its promise. While it covers a variety of subjects, it reads like it was written by a novice. Very disappointed in its lack of depth considering the other reviews.
