This is a high quality, lovely bowl with an absolutely beautiful tone that goes forever. It is very easy to make sing as well. My only issue is with the coloration of the bowl, in the image it is a light gold with less contrast between the design and the bowl's background.I returned my first order and contacted customer service, they were very quick to send out a new bowl, however the new bowl is still brown though slightly lighter. While I'd prefer the aesthetics of a lighter colored bowl as shown, I'm in love with the tone so I am happy with it.The bowl is quite thick and I believe they are machine formed then hand painted. It is well packaged with a nice presentation box, I just wish they didn't advertise their Amazon ratings on the side, it takes away from it's giftability. If you're ok with the color, you can't go wrong.

It's a beautiful bowl, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a small singing bowl to play or give as a gift.I read through the reviews before making my purchase. I was a little hesitant after seeing some of the "issues" that other purchasers had. I have addressed the ones I encountered, below...1. The mildew/musty smell - Yes, it smelled musty. I aired out the pouch & cushion outside. Let the paper box air out. The issue was solved.2. The sticky bowl - It was a bit tacky/sticky. So, I washed it & wiped it down well. The issue was solved.3. The bowl won't sing - There are numerous YouTube tutorials on how to use a singing bowl. Watch them. It takes practice. You'll get the bowl to sing. I got ours to sing after watching videos & practicing. The issue was solved.It is small (sits in your hand) & somewhat lightweight, so you need to really situate it in your palm properly, when attempting to use it.Overall, I am rather pleased with this bowl. I bought it as a birthday present for my son when he turned 16, in January. He loves it. We've both played it. I find it incredibly relaxing & centering.

Very happy with this purchase. It comes in a neat box with a homemade paper surface. Everything comes in an ornate, green & gold, pull string, pouch. The little pillow matches the pouch material and has very long tassles on the corners.The mallet is made of a dark, hardwood of some type and has a leather wrapping on one end. The bowl is about 4" across and appears to be cast in brass (or bronze?) All of the relief etchings and edge of the bowl appear to be turned or brushed. There are slight imperfections that indicate more of a handmade feel and look rather than mass produced junk.The bowl's note when rung is a slightly flat A according to my guitar tuner. With practice, I can get the bowl to sing pretty good. A slow, steady movement around the edge, seems to be the trick.This is my first singing bowl so I can't really make any comparisons to any thing else. But it is relaxing and gives me a calming sensation while using it. And it looks cool on its little pillow with its mallet resting inside when I'm not using it!

I absolutely aired this purchase. Thebowl has etching instead of paint. High quality. I will be purchasing this for gift for family members in the near future. The craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. I am so happy with this purchase. The sound from this singing bowl is awesome, easy to use. When I used it, I felt different afterwards. I can't explain it. I prayed and used it over my friend. His leg was hurting. He told me that his leg stopped hurting and he thanked me for thinking of Him and trying it with him. I am so thankful for this purchase. I will never forget this. Ever.

First things first, the only reason I am giving this 4/5 stars is simply because it took over a month to get to me. Other than that it is amazing. My finacee and I use it all the time, it is soooo soothing! Get yourself one, you won't regret it!

My wife loves it, it is not made of thin metal material, it is a well made product.

It's a pretty little bowl. I never had a singing bowl before, so I opted to buy small relatively inexpensive one as a "starter" bowl to see how much I use it and then decide later if I want something bigger and better. I had a heck of time getting it to sing, until I figured out you hold the suede side of the mallet and run the wooden side along the bowl, not the other way around! It would be helpful if there were some instructions on which side to use.
