I just received this item. It was packaged in a plastic sleeve and not in a box. No paperwork; instructions or anything. I ordered it from Amazon along with other items that shipped with it. The other items in the box caused the mat and the frame to warp; making it unusable. I have contacted the company to find out how to "fix" it or if it should be replaced. Am awaiting response and will update review based on outcome. The rotary cutter that came with it is junk. I am going to classify it as a freebie add on item; the blades were worth more than the value of the cheap cutter I can use them on a different cutter and keep this one for an emergency back up.Edited to update. I contacted seller about the issue with the mat being warped. They responded quickly and offered suggestions on how to correct it. The first suggestion worked perfectly and my mat is working great. They also advised to remove the paper backing from the base of the "rotation plate" which keeps it from sliding. Since it did not come with any paperwork or suggestions; I would not have done this as it was very difficult to remove and I would not have known that it was suppose to come off.Update on the Rotary cutter; have given it a whole hearted try and used it to cut the parts for an entire quilt (over 400 pieces) The blade does not stay tight and has to be tightened often, the squeeze mechanism still has a catch in it making it to not open and close smoothly. If I would have purchased it by its self I would be returning it. Since it was in addition to the mat that I ordered I will still call it a "freebie".

It is a cutting mat. Doesn't rotate smoothly. Easier to pick it up and turn than to rotate it

This cutting mat makes rotary cutting so much easier. Eliminates awkward positions which improves physical safty and accuracy.

Does not spin very well but maybe it will take time to break it in

This doesn't work ,it doesn't 'spin' on the top. It either comes apart or both spin. When I got it it was curved, but I did manage to flatten it using a heavy book, but that didn't really help. I should have just returned it.

The quality and size is just what I needed for smaller cutting pieces to the correct sizes
