Far Better Than the Google Nest Hello – Super Fast and Reliable
I recently switched to the Ring Wired Video Doorbell Pro after using the Google Nest Hello, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. The Google Nest was painfully slow to load videos, and notifications were always delayed, even though I have a 500mb fiber connection. It was frustrating, especially when I needed to see who was at the door in real-time. The Ring Wired Video Doorbell Pro is a complete game changer. The video quality is incredible with its 1536p HD and head-to-toe view, so I can clearly see everything at my door, including packages on the ground. What impressed me most is the 3D motion detection – it’s super accurate and alerts me immediately, without any delay. It’s reassuring to know that I won’t miss anything important anymore. Installation was straightforward since it’s hardwired, and the Wi-Fi connection has been rock solid with no buffering or slowdowns. Notifications come through instantly, which is a huge relief after my experience with the Google Nest. The Ring Protect free trial is a nice bonus, and I’m already considering keeping the subscription because the additional features are worth it. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable, fast, and feature-packed video doorbell, the Ring Wired Video Doorbell Pro is a no-brainer. It’s miles ahead of the competition, and I highly recommend it.

Rings a bell
This is our second Right Pro door bell for our second home abroad. Since we bought our fist Ring Pro doorbell a few months ago our range of Ring products has been steadily increasing and the app has been filled up with more connected devices. So obviously I’ve turned into a big fan of the Ring door bells and devices. I tend to prefer the higher-end Ring Pro version, because it is more compact, but also because it is powered by the mains. I think it’s fairly pointless to have a battery powered doorbell, in particular since we are frequently away for a sustained period. Upon opening the box you can see that Ring is a high quality and very good brand and that all required parts and tools are included to complete a basic installation. If you leave out the wiring, the set up is really a breeze. I had it in place and operational on both our iPhones in less than 15 minutes. Other than our previous Ring Pro bell, only one standard silver face plate is included. However with a voucher included in the box you can order an additional one for free (though you will have to pay for postage). We opted for the dark grey/brown plate matches very well with the style of our house. The face plate is fixed by a somewhat exotic type of screw, so that it cannot be removed that easily, preventing theft of your precious doorbell. In order to power it by the mains I ordered a separate generic £15 power supply that fits in a nearby socket. And, as there was no existing doorbell, I had to drill a small but deep hole through the door post for the wire. For this I had to order a £4 20 cm drill. All this was easily available through Amazon. Lastly, and this was most time consuming, I concealed the new wire between the wall and the skirt board and doorpost by removing some plaster where the wall and skirt board/post connect and later resealed that with white plaster. Job done. Note that no chime is included in this set. So I ordered two, one additional chime for the more remote parts of the house. The Ring works very smoothly and perfectly. The app is straightforward and intuitive. The first month of free Ring subscription that allows you to playback front door motion is a very nice feature. It turns out our front door path and garden is a very lively route for deer at night! We now have two subscriptions for two houses that can all be managed and monitored through a single app and that combined costs us far less than the monthly ADT fee that we used to have until recently.

First impressions of the new Ring Doorbell Pro 2
This review is for the New Ring professional 2 door bell. First impressions: Very nice solid doorbell. Great quality and looks amazing. I have the older version of the Ring professional which I love. This one is a step up but I’m not sure it provides enough of a step up to warrant paying the price. However if you are buy and without having a previous model then its worth it. However for the price, I still think the £89 ring doorbell is the best value. Take a look at that one and the reviews before you decide. Whats in the box: The box has a bell, fitting instructions, screw driver, stickers and instructions (and a few other bits) Picture quality: Amazing but honestly you cannot tell the difference between this and the old version - espacially on phone or alea device. Ease of setup: super simple to setup. For installation you will need and adpator which you can buy from amazon or connected to main with a transformer. The adpertor makes it simple and just plugs into the wall. Features: too many to list and all work really well. Negatives: pretty expensive, you will need a chime so dont forget to purchase that. Overall another great device by Ring. Woyld recommend! Giving it 4* cause of the price and that £89 ring doorbell i think is well worth the money!

Probably the best Video Door bell available!
After spending what must have been 2-3 months of research and viewing multiple video doorbell reviews on Youtube I decided to go for the Ring Pro 2. One of the specific features I wanted was a door bell that could ring a mechanical chime in the house, in case the Wi-Fi or internet goes down. There are not many available out there that do this job however the Ring Pro 2 does. After looking at the various tests on Youtube I could see the Ring Pro 2 had one of the best external audio qualities so the person outside could hear you clearly and also had minimal lag for both video and audio. There are various other features that include good quality night vision, HDR, top to bottom viewing angle, reliability and again was one of the best when comparing it all the different video doorbells. It also has Alexa compatibility which means I was able to use a smart bulb on my external porch light that would come on when motion was detected or the doorbell was pressed. I was able get the Ring Pro 2 working with an internal mechanical chime (the Honeywell D117), and for this I had to buy Pro Power Kit v3 from the UK ring website, it is only £2.99 and that will allow you to use your mechanical chime with the Ring Pro 2. I also bought the ProTek 16V 8VA 2 Module Bell Transformer (BT8-16) to power everything. After checking the current draw for the Ring Pro 2 it seems as though it only uses around 3.5VA during the day and around 4VA during the night with the IR lights on (8VA on 16v = 0.5 amps). I believe Ring states 10VA - 40VA as there is no separate Ring Pro 2 for UK and USA, and the mechanical doorbell chimes in the U.S require 10VA, however in the UK that is not the case. After 2 months I can say everything still works perfectly and am very pleased with my purchase. - Also check your inbox for an email from Ring, that will allow you to claim a free faceplate from 11 different colours!

Installation "quirks" but great image and audio quality and well designed apps.
I've been using an old Netvue Vuebell camera for about 5 years and had been waiting for something with better audio quality and responsiveness to replace it. When I read the Ring Pro 2 specs it seemed it might be the one. It is! But a few quirks to point out too. Firstly, the installation instructions have not been updated to reflect the Pro2 differences from other Ring bells. The most alarming is the power supply, as the power unit itself has a DC output with clearly marked + and - polarity, whereas the bell unit has a big label saying to only connect an AC supply (and as a result has no polarity on its connection terminals). I tried searching for info on this and found nothing, and then tried calling Ring's helpline and they were shut. So took a gamble and randomly connected the power and it worked. So I guess the Pro 2 doesn't care whether its power supply is AC or DC, and if DC the polarity is ignored. Secondly, the instructional video's made a big play on the stacked wedges for mounting, but the Pro2 only has one wedge supplied. It also has more mounting holes than shown in the instructions. I used the two diagonal holes and also the two slotted holes for extra security on the wall, before fitting the bell to the wedge. The Ring Pro 2 is available with a hardwired or plugin power supply. I opted for the hardwired version as the old bell used a standard doorbell transformer mounted in a nearby cupboard. However, I found that the Ring power supply was bigger than the old transformer and also had no cover for its terminals. So I decided to mount it inside a blanked-off double socket surface box (see pics). With the Ring power supply outer moulding removed it fits perfectly into a 25mm box. The supply is lightweight so held in place with double sided 3M tape (the stuff used in car windscreens). The supply doesn't seem to get hot. Connecting to the app required an account to be setup and linked to my Amazon account for Alexa alerts to work. A slightly painful process with security codes being texted at each stage, but best to be safe. I have now installed both the Ring and Ring Rapid apps on iPhone and iPad, and also aded my wife to the accounts. Both the audio and video quality are excellent. The video gives a clear view from door mat to head, and is crystal clear image quality. It also copes amazingly well with direct sunlight (see my example pics of early morning sun....you can still see the detail of surrounding objects despite the blinding light). You can also view in landscape mode and then drag the image up and down to fill your phone screen. The audio quality from the bell is incredible....no longer a tinny scratchy sound, but full, clear, and loud which you really don't expect from such a small bell! This was the biggest reason to upgrade as the sound from our old bell made the most basic requests like "leave it with a neighbour" almost impossible for the postman to understand. Now its crystal clear....very impressive. Another clever feature is the radar, where it plots the path taken by a visitor on a satellite view on playback. This could be useful if you get an unwanted visitor (i.e. burglar) who has perhaps hidden somewhere waiting for the coast to clear, as you could easily see where they are from and the route they took. Regarding connectivity, I have a number of dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) APN's around the house and though the Pro2 would grab a channel on the 5GHz band. But it chose 2.4GHz. Not a problem and the responsiveness is great. Finally, price. The Pro2 has been at £219 for a while which struck me as expensive. It recently dropped on a promotion to £179 so I grabbed it. I'd say this price is reasonable, but the normal £219 is overpriced IMHO. at this stage I am not sure if we will continue the £2.50 per month subscription as we've already got CCTV on the house and the main purpose of the Pro2 for us is to remotely answer if we are out which can be done without subscription. Overall, very impressed with the Pro2 quality and features.

An Essential Upgrade for Home Security - Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 Review
I recently upgraded my home security setup with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2, and I must say, it has completely transformed my peace of mind. As a customer who values both convenience and security, I'm thoroughly impressed with this device. Installation was surprisingly straightforward, even for someone like me who isn't particularly tech-savvy. The package came with all the necessary tools and clear step-by-step instructions. Within 20 minutes, I had the doorbell set up and connected to my Wi-Fi network. The most noticeable improvement over its predecessor is the enhanced video quality. The 1536p HD resolution is a significant step up, providing me with crisp and clear video feed of my doorstep. This has proven invaluable for identifying visitors, packages, and any unexpected activity around my property. The color night vision is impressive too; it's like having a spotlight on the front porch even in the darkest of nights. The advanced motion detection features deserve a special mention. The customizable motion zones allow me to focus on the areas that matter most and minimize false alerts triggered by passing cars or street activity. Plus, the People Only Mode is a game-changer. I no longer get pings for every passing squirrel; instead, I'm alerted only when a person is at the door. This refinement alone has significantly reduced unnecessary notifications. The integration with the Ring app is seamless. I receive instant alerts on my smartphone whenever someone rings the doorbell or motion is detected. The two-way audio communication is crystal clear, allowing me to communicate with visitors or couriers even when I'm not at home. I've had instances where I directed delivery drivers on where to place packages securely, adding an extra layer of convenience to my daily life. The cloud storage for video recordings is reasonably priced and offers ample storage space. It's reassuring to know that I can access and review footage from the past months if needed. The timeline view in the app makes it easy to navigate through recordings. One thing to note is that a solid Wi-Fi connection is essential for optimal performance. I had to upgrade my router to ensure a stable connection, but it was well worth it for the enhanced functionality. In conclusion, the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is a must-have for anyone looking to bolster their home security system. With its top-notch video quality, advanced motion detection, and seamless app integration, it offers a comprehensive package for safeguarding your home. I can confidently recommend this device to fellow homeowners - it's an investment in both security and peace of mind.

Ring Hardwired
Absolutely excellent! Was not aware it came with the solenoid in the box, we went with the Ring plug instead and all working perfectly - very easy to setup and install too. I have heard from a friend that they are having some issues with battery versions and are moving across to hardwired as a result

Not a security device and hardly a doorbell
after more than 1 year of use can confidently say, it is a poorly working product like the other ring devices in the range - it is a doorbell and not very good at that. My router is 3m away from it and the connection is still poor. The quality gets pixelated due to the poor connectivity so can't see anything. Then there are constant issues using the app to connect. To add to this, even on the paid subscription after few minutes it just disconnects the stream so you can't use it to monitor (same for their security cameras as well). Overall at this price the quality is comically bad and you still have to pay subscription fees. It is just a doorbell - don't rely on it as security device as it is not.
