Very Good
We've been using this in our English class this semester. It's a very good learning tool.It has some lessons and vocabulary and grammar, but what has really made this book exceptional is the story. Lucy is a busy bank employee with no time for dating, but she happens to meet a guy (if you guessed "piano player", then you got it right!). Her family doesn't like him at first. A misunderstanding leads to heartbreak, and then an unforeseen event brings them back together, and they live happily ever after, etc. etc. etc. I know. It's cheesy, but it's good, interesting writing, and the students like it. One day Ana couldn't make it to class, but when she got back, she wanted to know what was happening in the story. Our students work all day, and then they come to study English for two hours in the evening. All the classes have problems with attendance and people dropping out. This story makes the students want to come to class and find out what's happening to Lucy in the next episode.Plus the narrative gives plenty of opportunity for each student to read aloud. We're really liking this book. I wish there were many more like it (and less pricey too - for an entire class the price can be pretty steep).
