I was a little skeptical about how great the battery was purported to be. I needn't be. My battery came partially charged (about 80%) and was clocking 254 minutes. After charging it fully I get 301 minutes of camera life. As for the size, when the viewfinder of my Canon XA-10 is popped out for usage, the eye-piece and the battery are about flush. Not too big a hassle at all. This battery works great, much better than the Canon original (only 90 minutes fully charged). I'm probably going to buy a couple more soon. Great product at a price you cannot beat! I ordered the battery and camcorder at the same time and the battery arrived two days before without paying extra for shipping. *update* So I had damaged the plastic casing of my first battery but it wasn't leaking or anything. I dropped it by accident from a second floor landing! To my surprise the battery was still usable; I wrapped some tape around the chipped plastic casing - I didn't lose charge or functionality, just created an aesthetic problem. I had always wanted another battery anyway, so I finally got around to it and ordered another. Shipping was fast, again! Now I have two great batteries. And now I know that these are extremely durable.

The old Canon HF M300 battery I had has started to lose it's ability to keep a charge. Not to mention the battery indicator on the camera says 97 minutes of record time when, in fact, I have only about 60 or so minutes. Kind of the same problem here, but at the same time, the lasting power is much higher. Will run my Vixia HF M300 for about 4 hours of record time before being completely discharged. When you get the battery, completely discharge it, then let it charge all the way up to full. This may take a couple hours, but the return on this will be well worth it. Wish it didn't have to protrude back so far, but not a fault of the battery or manufacturer, just a reality of higher capacity battery charges for what I'm needing. At $30, I have to give this a perfect score on principle alone. The battery is definitely chipped, so the camera will tell you remaining battery life and will also charge while in the camera as well. After picking this up with some lens filters, a lens hood, and a 32 GB class 10 SD card, the HF M300 I have is basically a brand spanking new camera.

Seemed great at first with the extended battery life, but died within 3 months. I purchased this for my Canon Vixia HF200 camcorder. I used it once with no issue, but after charging it to use a few months later, it will not hold a charge at all and the camera just shuts down. I have since replaced this battery with an official canon one and it works great. I bought this battery due to the very positive reviews but now regret it. I missed out on recording a very important family event due to the battery failure which is unfortunate.

Great for the price! Over a few hours of use on one charge. I did notice it loses charge while camera was off. I was filming between my daughter’s basketball games (maybe a few hours between) and noticed that I had just enough to film before battery died.

I'm always a little hesitant to buy 3rd party accessories, but decided the price was right on the Wasabi Power Battery, so I'd give it a try. I'm pleasantly surprised by the capacity it gives me on my Canon XA10. Where the stock Canon battery gives me less than 2 hours of capacity, the Wasabi gives me about six. (In practice, it seems to be slightly less.) It's a great feeling to go into the field for several hours of shooting and NOT have to worry about running out of juice. I've given it some pretty heavy use in the first month or so, and it's working great and holding its charge. One thing to keep in mind: the battery is so large, it physically sticks out from the compartment on the back of my video camera. It's not a problem for me, but it does add slightly to the bulk of the camera. Still, it's a great tradeoff for the additional battery life. I highly recommend this.

At least 5 hours of battery power on my old Canon 1080p camcorder. Sends info to the camcorder indicating time left on the battery.

I have a Canon Vixia HF20 HD Camcorder. For the first couple of years, we used it with the standard Canon battery that it was kitted with. This was not bad, and it was sufficient for the typical concerts that our kid was part of. It was not sufficient for sports or other activities that drain the battery because of the constant zooming and autofocus changes. Finally, I decided to get a high capacity battery. I started looking and realized that all the higher capacity batteries extend past the back of the camcorder. Once it extends past the back like that, I figure that I don't care so much if the projection is a quarter inch or an inch since each is equally awkward for me. So, I decided to go for this big guy, and it is wonderful. No more worries about the battery life. I have filmed for a couple hours and still had a lot to go. For a long interview (>1 hour) shoot that I did, I decided to not worry about the AC adapter and just use this battery. No problem - the camcorder still had hours of life left at the end of the hour. BTW, it charges fine on our Canon AC power supply. My son and I have both used Wasabi Power batteries for other devices and found them to be of high quality and better than any of the cheaper "no-name" batteries out there. It seems like this one will work out well too.

I've had good experiences with Wasabi batteries in my GoPro so I thought I'd give this one a try for my new Canon Vixia HF G10. The standard battery is very marginal. It's important to follow the camera's instructions when charging a new battery. The procedure suggests that you completely discharge the battery in the camera initially, then charge to full capacity. This gives the camera's battery memory a complete analysis of the range of the battery. This allows the "Battery Time Remaining" indicator to be very accurate. At full charge, the Canon indicates 350 minutes of life. That's almost 6 hours of record time. On a typical day of typical usage on our travels, I seldom get it even close to discharge so I'm very happy with it. The only down side is that the battery is so large that it extends back further than the eye piece extends out so it makes it very hard to use the eye piece for viewing. You also cannot adjust the eye piece focus because of the battery size. But then again, it's the large size that gives you the piece of mind that you can probably run the camera for 2 days without having to charge it back up.

303 minutes for real! I use it on my Canon Vixia HG20. Unlike other batteries that I have bought during the last years for my camcorder, It is easily recognized by the camera and there are no error messages. I had read in the previews that it is big and interferes with some buttons on camcorder, but it is not true, it is big but I can easily reach the buttons. I may order another one again.

Excellent battery. Way better than the original Canon battery my HF M40 came with. New battery gives me over 5 hours recording time. Camera can read the battery just fine and I can charge it with the Canon charger.e

This is a good product in terms of capacity (almost double OEM), but it is literally twice the size of the Canon battery. The problem that creates is that it makes access to the record button difficult. Still good as a backup, but I would not use it as my main battery for this reason.

Did what it was suppose to, even in Canadian winter. I just kept it in my warm pocket until needed for filming.
