Superb Amp For Solo Performers - Acoustic, Electric, and Vocals
This superb amp has incredible sound for acoustic instruments, electric instruments including guitars and basses, as well as microphones. It also has an aux 3.5 mm input jack for an mp3 player or other external audio source. You will be amazed at the sound reproduction at all levels. You can play in your living room or a large club--it sounds like a recording studio. There are three separate channels, which is like having a built-in mixer. With XLR and phone inputs for low and high-z devices, this is well-designed.There are two channels of digital effects ranging from chorus to reverb and echo. An optional footswitch can be used to turn the effects on and off. The effects are just okay, and the rotary pots do not offer detents or any way to precisely adjust the effects and then reproduce them consistently when traveling to gigs. This is the primary flaw with the amp in general--the pots are very small, close together, and not conducive to precise, repetitive setting for volume, eq, and effects. There are phone jacks for an external effects loop that would be best for a high quality effect, but this would affect all 3 channels instead of having the individual effects controls that you have with the internal effects. The amp is a full 200 watts with the 3 fully enclosed crossover speakers (12", 6.5", and horn tweeter). With an 8 ohm external speaker cabinet, the amp produces 250 watts. A solo artist can fill a medium sized room or outdoor venue with the amp and its matching 3-way speaker cabinet. The amp and external speaker have sockets for pole stand mounting.I am a solo performer with acoustic and electric guitars and a standard Shure SM-58 microphone. I use an mp3 player for occasional backing tracks. The amp has an XLR line output that I use for a Roland Cube monitor or to send my mix to a house system or digital recorder. The line output has level control and the same control is used for the headphone output.
