Beautiful book. It's well laid out and gives clear and detailed instructions of the walks, including a proper breakdown of distance allowing me to plan my walks out beforehand. The maps are a great help. The stories and history that are throughout the book really make it special. I would recommend the book, read it all before you plan your walks as the entire walk is over 500km but can be done in individual sections. The accomodation list in the back is a bonus.

Just received this book, and it is another great read from Mr Anthony Nugent.I whole-heartedly recommend this title to anyone with an interest in critical periods in Irish history.

Perfectly written book. True to facts in reference to both history and geography. As someone who went to national school in Glengarriff- and listened to old people telling me about this epic march- and someone who actually went in person many times to were the march began- its detail to the geography of the place is spot on. As are all the battles that were fought along the way- and battles that had been fought in prior times throughout Irish history in the direction they marched. I highly recommend this book- Brian James O'Sullivan...
