Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 Men's Supportive Running Shoe

These are my 3d pair of Glycerin's the 2d with the improved support. I walk 6-8 miles 5 days a week, weigh in at around 195 pounds and keep a 16 minute pace. These shoe provide the right mix of softness, flexibility and support for the hard surfaces I'm usually on. I like the full shoe tongue which makes getting an and out of them a breeze. In the photo you can see my old Glycerin GTS 19 shoes after about 700 miles of walking, mostly on concrete or paved surfaces over 6 months. Looking at the blue 'wear' surface on the heel, I kept thinking they were OK. When my new GTS 19's arrived I compared the two and you can see how the ball of the foot area was totally worn out! The tops still looked great by the way. This time I ordered two pairs so I could more easily alternate since I live in Florida and they can get pretty sweaty or wet walking in the occasional rain shower.

I accidentally discovered this brand while reading a post on how to improve my walking technique on a treadmill. I have a new treadmill and I'd purchased new walking shoes made by a leading brand in athletic shoes. I was unhappy with how they felt when I walked. The soles felt overly supportive (thick) and they felt insufficiently flexible and inhibited my ability to flex my foot naturally when striding. I thought I was doing something wrong and that's how I came upon the article that suggested this shoe by Brooks. I'm delighted with the shoes flexibility, it's weight (lighter than my original shoe), and the sole which is lighter but still feels supportive but helps me feel more connected to the belt. Add to that that I find the shoe attractive. I highly recommend this shoe; at least for walkers.

I've worn Asics Gel-Kayanos for years - literally 30+ pairs, as I work out a lot. I have slighly flat feet and slightly pronate. Unfortunately, my last few pairs of Gel Kayanos had been chewing up my feet, requiring taping in several places to keep from getting blisters. The final straw was a manufacturing defect that had the heel collar collapsing, rendering them unusable within weeks of buying them. (A known issue, according to our local Asics store.) So, I was finally motivated to find an alternative. I got a pair of these, and I'm never going back. They're at least as supportive as the Asics, comfortable like slippers right out of the box, and my first pair is wearing much better than the Asics ever did. This is my second pair, so I can rotate shoes. Honestly, I wish I'd made the change years ago. These are so good.

These shoes fit well and are probably the best walking shoes that I've ever owned. They aren't the most attractive shoes though. Very plain imo.

I purchased this shoe to replace my old Nike running shoes. After straining my Achilles tendon, my physical therapist suggested I get a better shoe to control my pronation, so I decided to give these a try. These are my first Brooks shoes and I must say that I was surprised at how comfortable they are and how much I love running in them. I have metal plates and screws in my lower back from a 2014 surgery, and running can cause a lot of pain when muscle tissues rub against them, so good cushioning is important to reduce the impact and jarring of my spine. I found that, unlike the other shoes I had worn, these don't need additional padding to reduce the vibrations of running. I typically run about 40 to 50 miles a month, and my Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 shoes have been perfect. I may never get back to my pre-2014 mileage and speed, but it won't be the fault of these shoes. FYI, I am 67 years old.

My husband wears these at work for 12+ hour shifts on his feet and they are so comfortable. They hold up great over time and over great support.

I'm about 30 pounds overweight and googled "best running shoes for overweight men" and these were frequently at the top of most lists. I bought them and I will say I'm pleased so far. They are very firm, but offer great cushion. My only slightly negative observation is that the sizing runs a little small. Usually a size 11 is slightly large for me, but these are slightly tight.

After using/trying a good number of various brands and types, I found the shoes is the best for me... I'm 61 yo, 175 cm, 79 kg; running 6.5 to 8 km 2-3 times a week (10K under 50 min). I bought size 10 though my regular size is 9... They also look great.

La primera sensacion ha sido estupenda: buena amortiguación, pero no te hundes...son muy agradables y para un corredor pesado como yo, y con tiempos discretos, creo que van a ir super bien; me recuerdan a unas Saucony Iso 2 que tuve, con esa sensacion de amortiguación, aunque las Brooks se notan algo más pesadas.

I bought these for walking in rather than running since I walk alot. They're very comfy, i ordered size 9, if you're this size or different size in general don't go up or down a size, these are spot on. Very airy, good quality, so far no problems with tears in the material which I tend to find in other brands, the rubber sole, so far not wearing down as quick as other brands. Definitely worth buying

I did a tonne of research before buying these as they were a present for my husband who was recovering from a knee injury and desperately wanted to get back into running. He’s been using for a few months now and is over the moon with them. He says they are the most comfortable running shoes he’s owned and the padding/ impact absorption is second to none. I’m so glad I went for these shoes. They have allowed him to get back into running with no knee issues to date which at one stage he didn’t think possible.
