It works great for ice, cold, and on the go!
I bought this thermos to use as a coffee & water bottle. It works wonderfully as both! Ice stays in it for a long time. I had ice in it from an iced coffee this morning for about 4-5 hours. That's impressive for an iced coffee, in my opinion (it wasn't cold brewed. Hot expresso poured over ice and milk). Ice from my igloo ice maker lasts about 6 hours in the thermos, but the water is STILL "ice cold" even when all the ice is gone 12 hours later. I believe the shorter amount of time is more to do with the kind of ice (they're small and have holes in them. It makes for super cold drinks drinks, but they melt VERY easy). I haven't had a chance to test a different kind of ice (other than the iced coffee). The 18 oz does NOT fit in my Keurig. I have the pod machine meant for an office or business. It will not slide under, even with the drip tray removed. The 16oz will. The lid is great, and it's the most insulating of all of the other lids Hydro Flask offers. Honestly, I was a little concerned about getting a screw on lid because some cups you drink out of, you could dribble on the sides a little bit. The design of the thermos really prevents that. The wide mouth is at a great angle, and the edge is "sharp" enough to make drinking off the side very easy. I very much appreciate it!I wouldn't get the screw on cap for children though, because when you put something cold or hot in it, it becomes very hard to unscrew. Or at least, I have serious problems unscrewing. I feel like little hands would struggle too! I'd recommend the flip top or the drinking straw for little ones (you can buy different lids separately, and you can exchange them on the same bottle).

Love the product but the seller sent it with a scratched lid
Came to Amazon authorized seller instead of Hydro Flask website because I have prime 1day shipping. I like the product overall. Not that it’s a big deal but I’m a bit disappointed that the lid came with a small scratch (more visible to human eyes than it looks in the photo). I spotted it right when I took it out of the recyclable bag (I don’t have anything sharp on me and I carefully took it out with my bare hands, and I spotted the scratch immediately because it looks quite deep in person). Objectively it’s still an awesome product so I will give it 4 stars (planning to use this one for coffee and buy a bigger one next month for water). It’s honestly not a big deal. I understand that they sell thousands of them each day and small scratches can happen often, but from a consumer’s perspective, unboxing is usually the most most exciting part after the “long-waited” shipping and this was a big turn-off. Hopefully the seller will be more careful with the handling in the future so that all other customers would have a perfect experience.

Terrible packaging so arrived bent.
Flask is great but it arrived damaged. Because, it was packaged in soft sided (paper) envelope. I would think Amazon would package something like this better knowing the flask sides are soft & bend easily.

Does its job very well
This might be one of the most expensive brands of its kind, but I gotta say that it gets the job done for both cold and hot beverages. I took it to the beach one day when the weather was in the 90s, had water in it with a bunch of ice cubes, assuming that under that weather, the ice would melt in no time. Even though I opened the bottle several times to drink from it, three hours later, the ice cubes were smaller, but still there! My scientist friends were all wondering what technology they use to allow for that! Similarly, when I had very hot tea on it one day, I kept in my car (where it was cold) for a couple of hours, and when I opened to drink, it was still tongue-burning hot. So yeah, this bottle was an investment, but it works pretty well.

Best water bottle you'll ever buy, hands down.
My daughter raved about this bottle keeping her water cold all day. Finally I relented and bought one, along with the straw lid which is sold separately. I got the 18 oz because it fits in my car's cup holders. It is indeed the perfect size for that, the larger ones don't. So this bottle really does work. 12 hours after filling with ice and water and sitting in a hot car for an hour of that time there is still ice floating in there. The straw lid is secure and doesn't leak so far when closed. The secret, my engineer husband deduced, is that the double walled insulation is vacuum sealed. No air in between the walls so no atoms to bounce around and heat up and affect the inside temp. Other double walled insulated plastic bottles like Camel-bak that I used until now were ok but I didn't realize what I was missing. This is worth the extra bucks. I kept raving about it and my spouse ordered one too.

Good, but not good enough for the price
I'm pretty torn on this product! I really WANT to love it, but it has a few undeniable flaws.I've been on a quest to find the perfect water bottle - both for everyday use and for hiking. I am an avid hiker and most of my time on the trails is spent during hot to extremely hot temperatures. As such, finding something insulated is key. This water bottle makes the grade in this respect, for sure.Unfortunately, the wide mouth cap options are an issue. The standard cap on this project is great because it has a handle for hiking, but the wide mouth requires you to essentially STOP what you're doing to take a sip. Any movement at all and the liquid pours all over you. I chose the wide mouth intentionally so that I could add ice as the standard mouth sizes are often too small for larger cubes. On this same note, if you add too many ice cubes- because it's so well insulated- the ice hits your teeth (and is freezing!) the whole time.Their are two alternative caps- a straw (which I totally don't want to do) or a flip lid. I would LOVE the flip lid to eliminate the spilling and the freezing teeth issues, but there's not handle for hiking....I am not usually this specific but my water bottle is something that's always with me and needs to meet some basic requirements. Sadly, this one falls short- ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!

Cool and leakproof
The 18-ounce size is perfect for protein smoothies. The blender recipe makes 2, so I have one for breakfast and the other goes conveniently into my bag. Unlike me, the bottle doesn’t sweat. My drink is there all ready when It’s time. Best of all, I get compliments on the stylish container, instead of rude comments about whether I’m drinking green vomit.. New vegans will understand!

Fragile, hold on to it tight, do not drop it
I had high hopes but after dropped it to the floor on the first day, it made dent at the bottom, and is now wobbly when placed on a flat surface. Pretty fragile I think. Never had issues like this with other water bottles I owed.
