great story
A vivid adventure story. You can taste the salt air from the days of sail. In my 72 years I've read this book at least four times. I think my latest red on Kindle was the best ever.

No color pictures, only black and white
The whole reason I purchased this book was for the Wyeth illustrations, instead I got black and white poor quality copy. I do not recommend.

Classic.
A really difficult read due to old English and pirate-speak. I wanted to read classics for the summer and this took way too long for my taste.

A bit disappointing…
I found this edition a bit disappointing. Not from the story, of course, because you can find that for free if you want to read a digital copy. But because of the NC Wyeth illustrations. Or should i say, LACK OF the illustrations! There are at LEAST four, maybe more, that are MISSING from this edition. They are 1) The Captain standing on the cliffs over the sea; 2) Blind Pew tapping down the road in the moonlight; 3) Ben Gunn hiding behind a large pine tree; 4) and Jim Hawkins bagging up gold coins in the treasure cave. There may be one or two more that i couldn’t find on the internet. WHY are these particular ones missing? Has someone purchased these amazing works of art and doesn’t want to share them with the world? Or maybe they do, but Pook Press is too cheap to pay the royalties? Who knows, but if you know the paintings by NC Wyeth that are SUPPOSED to be in there, like me, you’ll be disappointed.

Obviously a wonderful classic story
Obviously a wonderful classic story! However my copy was missing all page numbers which made impossible to reference for a class in Children's Literature that I'm taking. . .also some of text is missing from each chapter beginning which caused me to have to guess at what the first few words were. . . not fun. I wish I could have returned for a better copy but the return time had expired by the time I actually picked up the book to read it.

Missing Prints
The book has missing letter(s) at the beginning of each chapter, There is no page number. Amazon sent me a replacement book that has the same exact defects. Both books were copied and put together in Columbia, SC, within a day or two of my orders. Do not buy this version.

I'm very disappointed. Honestly
Ugh. I'm very disappointed. Honestly, I probably should have asked more questions. The illustrations are all in black and white and aren't very high quality. Sad.

The paperback was obviously Xeroxed from a better copy. Unfortunately
I agree with TDD, who wrote the first 1-star review, or at least the first one on your list.I think "piece of crap" is being charitable. The paperback was obviously Xeroxed from a better copy. Unfortunately, the guy was not very familiar with how a Xerox machine works: e.g. how to center the thing on the page in order to copy ALL the print; how to include the page numbers at the bottom; how to copy pictures so that they don't end up dark dark grey from top to bottom; etc. What is a grade-school kid to make of that?

Illustrations are poor black and white versions.
Very disappointing. My guess is that this is an illegal copy as the Wyeth family still has the copyright over the original artwork. Big waste of money as I ordered the book for its illustrations.
