This 20mm premium 1.25" wide angle eyepiece includes an illuminated double crosshair reticle that greatly simplifies centering celestial objects in the eyepiece for more accurate go-to alignment and tracking. Unlike eyepieces with single line crosshairs, the edge-to-edge double line reticle in this eyepiece doesn’t obscure small targets when centered – they remain visible in the box created by the intersection of the two pairs of double lines.Reticle illumination is variable. The reticle can be rotated to allow polar drift alignment for equatorial mounts and precision guiding for astrophotography. The 20mm focal length of this cordless eyepiece provides a wide 70° apparent view of the sky allowing you to find objects and alignment stars more easily than shorter focal length eyepieces.Eyeglass wearers will appreciate the focusing mechanism that allows them to bring the reticle to a sharp focus. With the illuminator turned off, the eyepiece can be used like any other eyepiece for comfortable observing. Illuminator requires two SR-54 / LR-44 type batteries (included).

Great Product
Awesome alignment tool. The dual lines give you the ability to actually center and see the stellar object you are putting into alignment.The lens itself can be used as a 20mm lens of really stunning quality when not in use as an alignment tool. The lines etched in the glass appeared invisible to me when the laser was turned off at night. You can see them in daylight but I couldn't see them through the eye piece at night when I had the unit turned off.At that point, the $105 price tag is pretty reasonable given the same or equivalent 20mm wide view lens will easily cost you $80 if it didn't have a laser alignment function.

Must have eyepiece
High quality eye piece very well made. I especially like the red double reticle. It drastically helps in getting everything centered. Turn the reticle off and you have a great 20mm with a FOV 70 degrees. A must have for any one interested in astronomy

Best illuminated reticle eyepiece I ever owned. Superior finish, build quality and optically comfortable to the eyes. Definitely so much better than the 12.5" Celestron illuminated reticle eyepiece I used to have. Worth every penny I paid for it. Will certainly recommend this product to a friend.

Increases Alignment Accuracy... Improving Tracking and Go To ....
Hi: This is a great eyepiece and I really like the dual crosshairs. It works great and I use the illumination about half the time as I see the crosshairs against the night’s sky most of the time. An unintended advantage of the illumination is when it gets too humid outside, the crosshairs lines get very slightly fussy from light refraction in the sky. I therefore know immediately if sky quality is diminishing because of an increase in humidity. It’s sort of like a sanity check of “seeing conditions”.

It arrived on time and the product seems be solidly ...
I bought two of these and they both broke. They are cheaply built and the cross hairs are painted onto a cheap piece of plastic that comes loose on the inside.
