Plenty of variety & fun
This game has a very fast pace. Load times are minimal.Survival mode is all about endurance. Arcade mode is all about speed. Tag mode is more the "standard" fighting game with a neat little twist. 3 distinct modes, 40 fighters, 7 difficulty levels. I'd say it should have something for novice to advanced & most everyone in between. As a fan of the KOF series, I was already familiar with those fighters. The Samurai Showdown guys are also pretty darn cool. A solid 2-D fighter.Tip on unlocking Goodman. I think I did it on my 4th or 5th try with one of the girls slide kicks & Mudman's super special taking out the bosses then died two matches later. Yuki can beat most regular opponents with his slide kick on level 1. The bosses come out at after about every 5 rounds(6,11,16,21 I think). If you have 3 specials stored, all you have to do is use 3 Mega Beams consecutively RIGHT AWAY to beat the bosses & build up again against the regular opponents. You can use someone other than Yuki as well with the same basic formula approach. I've now attained 60 consecutive victories in Survival mode mostly thanks to Hanzo (SNK's RYU) alone (like had the game 3 weeks). The Mars People are another great choice. Thier special attack works nicely. I'm sure you'll find your own favorite(s) to use.

Got it today, and it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! snk's finest jewel
im proud to be the first to drop the reviews, on this masterpiece. best graphics, very flashy, fighters look great ( my favorites, the samurai showdown dudes). different endings, artworks, character designs, THE WORKS!!!!!!... I thinks its nicer than kof 2007 but thats just my opinion...only one little thing i didn't like. there are pauses between rounds, thats a little annoying, unlike kof xi that does not..i just wish the fights were consecutive like kof xi, but still that doesn't take the glory out of it. it still kicks butt. im new to this puppy, i heard you can do tag team damage, like 2 vs 1 but that i still have to learn. other than that, this game is very, very, very rare..no gamestop in miami has it yet, probably is low in print...well, what i mean by that is ,,if you can get it in amazon for 14.99, dont even think it twice..grab your copy today, cause its the best snk game on the market period!!!!!

SNK Playmore's Fighting Evolution
This game first caught my eye the first time I'd seen it (in early 2006, I was watching G4's "Cinematech" show & they had a couple of clips from this game; it was the japanese PS2 version). Now that I owned it, I will say this, SNK Playmore did a good job on this game esp. if you compare this to Capcom Fighting Evolution. Many of the fighters were given much needed makeovers (unlike Capcom's game where they just recycle nearly all the fighters's sprites) & some like Robert Garica were totally madeover. We also have fighters from games that never appeared in the "King of Fighters series like the ninjas from World Heroes, & the sword fighters from Samurai Shodown & Last Blade. The Double Assaults is a great idea & should be used in all future tag-team based fighters. As for gameplay, you can play Arcade mode where you're given 300 seconds to beat many teams as you can but only one team member needs to be KOed to go on to the next team. Every 3 teams you beat you can choose to restore your life, add more time on the clock, or fill up your power stock but once you used one, you can't pick it again. When time runs out you fight one of 4 bosses. Who you fight depends on how you did those previous 300 seconds (the one fighter down you lose rule still applies). Then there's tag play which feels more like Marvel vs Capcom; beat both team members to go to the next team. And in Survival Challenge, you fight tag team after tag team until both your fighters gets KOed in a match. The 3-D backgrounds are very nice. Favs are the underwater stages, the underground mine one (with the robot chasing you in the background) & the dragon stages (despite the slowdown that does happen here). The music is OK but not as rememberable as the music from SNK Playmore's (and SNK pre-2001) earier games. The highlight in the sound department are the voices (I'm a sucker for fighters with cute Japanese voices...)And the fun factor? I actually give this game two rating here; 1 player: 3 stars; 2 players: 5 stars, thus 4 stars overall. Once you unlock the endings (which are mostly text based), the galleries & the unlockable fighters, there's not much else you can do in this game if you're playing solo. Also, the CPU's a little easy...until you make it to any of the bosses who are very cheap. However with two players, you & a friend will be playing this game for hours on end.PS About the load times, the Japanese & PAL versions of this game had long loading times. This is not an issue in the American version so don't let that keep you from buying this game if you're interested.

really good game, arrived a week early
I was about 6 cents away from being able to get expedited delivery which was disappointing until it was delivered about 6 days early anyways (alongside my other order, a USBOTG hub for Android). The game is also highly recommended. It does a good job of honoring the very best (and not so good) of SNKs history, and it's a fast paced tag team game so even if you're not a huge SNK fan you'll probably get a kick out of it.

Another SNK hit that will be a classic.
I'll get right to the point, this title is a total hit, great graphics and gameplay with the option to configure your controller during play so you can chose the right configuration of buttons to hack, slash, punck, kick or super special your foe, with many options this title offers, it will keep you quite busy especially unlocking the extra characters in this game, if you love fighting games and whether or not your an SNK fan this title will not dissapoint.
