Do they have a flat bottom? The last ones I bought of these had a concave bottom that holds water when washed in the dishwasher, very annoying!

They do not have a flat bottom. I like the glass so much that I’m willing to put up with having to dry the bottom when taking it out of the dishwasher. Many other cups and glasses I have are the same.

Are these shaped and rounded like the pic, or straight like the version I've had for years?

I have been buying Anchor Hocking water glasses and old fashion glasses for at least 20 years, as some have become broken over time. All of the glasses of both sizes have always had straight sides, ie, the same diameter at the bottom and the top. Both the water glass and old fashion glass have the same diameter. The top of the glasses is about 3 1/4 inches in diameter, and the bottom has the same diameter. I can send you photos of my recent order of old fashioned glasses beside a tape measure at the top and bottom if you like. It is possible that it is an optical illusion in the photos that seem to show that the sides are tapered.

are these clear blue in color?

No, the ones here ....they are just clear/glass color. I don't know if the Tartan design comes in blue anymore...I went on the internet and ETSY has the color "blueberry blue"... not sure if this is the color you want. They also came in a cobalt blue. I just like the regular clear color with the grayish dimensions formed by the depth of the design. They are heavy and durable and that's why I bought them in 1999. And again in 2011?

Do these glasses absorb odors

Have never noticed these glasses having any odor. I really enjoy these glasses as they have some nice weight to them which makes them good looking and sturdy.
