Good tool for the money. Inserts seat well and stay put while milling

I bought this because it came with 10 inserts, which seemed like a great deal. It arrived and I realized it had a 25mm shank and my R8 only go up to 3/4, so I ordered a 7/8 R8. The the 7/8 R8 arrived I threw the end mill on the lathe turned it down to 7/8 and parted the length of the shank in half because the 7/8 R8 only allows the shank to enter in about 1.5 inches. Everything worked out great because this goes through steel like a hot knife through butter.

I bought it without realizing that there are different size mandrels. This cutter has a smaller hole than the one I was replacing. I still need to buy the correct mandrel which I can't find as a separate item. I do see them sold as a set shaft/mandrel and cutter together.

The insert screw holes are not tapped to depth. I have the choice of retapping them, or spending more time returning the item and waiting for a replacement.

Appers to be a good product at a very reasonable price

and works great if your mill has the power.

so pros. it does come with 1 pair of inserts and tool. it cuts great.. now. and handle tool and cold roll very well. cons. had a major wobble out the box put it in our lathe and took about .060 off cleaned most the wobble out. if I didn't need it for the job on hand here and could have waited would have sent back ... but I needed it and had ways to fix it. so beware you might have a wobble you will need to address. I'm ordering other sizes as well for the shop from same seller will see how it goes with those.
